ok, about a month ago i opened my gp32 in a chance to clean my FLUs screan , but i had a problem...

i opened my gp32, then i took the other 2 screws out but i still couldnt take out the actual unit, but right now i dont want help with that. well i forgot that the wires connected to the gp32 and the back of the case of the gp32 were there, i by accidently pulled one of the wire off. the one connected to the back of the casing broke due to crappy weak soldering joint.

so in my desperate attemp to get my screen working again i re soldered it back. and when i screwed all of the gp32 back to normal i swiched it on and hey presto the light was working again properly... oh so i thought, but the switch on the back of the gp32 was broken i couldnt could not choose to turn the light off...

what did i do wrong?
can it work again?

please help me :( ...

I would imagine a switch is probably the single simplest electrical component that exists (well, apart from a piece of wire!), so it can't be diffcult. You probably shorted the switch, by perhaps heating it up so much with excess solder that it melted.

Yes, make sure the blob of solder is not so big that it 'leaked' onto the other wire. If you really did break your switch, don't worry, there are many places to get toggle switches.

Like Jameco Electronics. I don't remember the site, try googling the name.

But before you invest 2 pennies on a replacement switch, make sure you check your solder job first. :p
