Does the device still work on batteries after you removed the ac adapter?

You should have gone for a higher mah rating, I know i said in a previous post that you need at least 300mah, But that is the bare minimum.

Generally speaking:-
At least 300 mah for a Nlu (non lit)
At least 500 mah for a Flu or Blu.

Uniross do an 800mah and a 1250mah adapter (i have both for general use) and they both work great with the GP32.

EDIT:

***WARNING***
DO NOT EVER PLUG THE ADAPTER INTO YOU GP32 WITH THE POLARITY THE WRONG WAY (IE CENTRE POSITIVE), IT WILL KILL YOUR GP32, I KNOW FROM FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE. ALWAYS MAKE SURE THE ADAPTOR IS SET TO CENTRE NEGATIVE.

Make sure the polarity is right. There may be a switch to change this on the power adapter. On the bottom of the GP32, above the text that says 'DC 3V IN', there is a little symbol. Notice that the negative power line goes to the inside of the circle in the middle. Make sure that the power adaptor matches this, or you can kill your GP32.

EDIT: Whoops, your post wasn't there when I viewed the thread, trooper.

Hi Ok can you let me know if a 1200 ma multi voltage adator will be ok as i can get this one from argos in the UK as this is were i am frmo

I would also add, avoid all unregulated PSUs, they can damage sensitive electronic equipment (such as your GP32).

They might be fine for a charging unit, but can result in damage to more expensive gadgets.

by the way did you use the smallest pplug in (thing) into your gp32? i kept on putting in 1 size too big before but 5 mins later i tried the smalllest and presto it worked

Hasn't happened with me and I've done it loads of times (when its dark and the power line falls out), you must have been just unlucky.
But then again I used to run my FLU on 4.5V, and I was fine.

But the polarity doesn`t change if the lead falls out  , It only does that if you flick the polarity switch or swap the connector around (depending on the type of adapter).

The GP32 does not have any proper built in protection for situations like this, Unlike a lot of consumer electrical products. So it is better to be safe than sorry. ;)

It was dark the lead fell out from the connector and I plugged it in with the polarity the wrong way around.
I have done this a couple of times now.
Must be more careful, if what you say is true. heh.
