Hi

Is there such a utility that sorts *.fxe files on your SMC? (from your PC via card reader). It seems that fxe files are sorted by date (i.e newest first) rather than alphabetically. As I've got quite a few emulator's on my SMC now it would be nice to be able to have the most popular at the top. Does such a utility exist?

:)

other firmware has some different sorting settings.. I use GPbios set to launvh YAFL which has some various sorting settings I believe

it just depends on what type of launcher you are using ;)

If you want to keep your file launcher, and have them sorted (by date), just open and save the fxes with notepad in the order you want to have them showed in on your gp32.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I'm using the default launcher that comes with the BLU+. I don't really want to change the BIOS but a utility in Windows would be usefull otherwise I'll just keep moving files to and from my PC and SMC.

I suppose cut and paste on the SMC would have the same effect.

If you are into sorting I think GPosx is pretty good.

Graphically, this is close to what I had in mind. A grid that represented the layout of fxe's displayed on the default BLU+ frontend. Unfortunately, I was looking for something that runs on Windows rather than the GP32.

No, I don`t think so. You don`t change anything about the file. You just copy it from one place to another. You have to open them with notepad, and directly save them again. This should change the date of the file to the current date. Do this for every fxe, and you kind of sorted them.
I did this with some manga scans for my PSP, since it sorts the pictures by date, too.

I've decided to number my fxe's (i.e 00.filename1, 01.filename2, etc). That way, I put the last number on first and then add the descending numbers untill I reach 00. Seems to do the trick :). Thanks for your advice.

Hello I use a simple batch script and touch.exe which updates the timestamp of a file to "now" ( basically like opening and saving it in notepad ) You'll have to write your own batch file since only you know your preference but thats not hard...

blah.bat

Code:
cd f:
cd gpmm
c:/touch.exe fN64.fxe
c:/touch.exe fPSX.fxe
c:/touch.exe fCDI.fxe

etc.. That should in theory sort them in that order...

you can get touch.exe from here: http://l33t.spod.org/ratx/gp32/touch.exe
