Anyone know of any electrical chains that will price match websites? Im after a digital camera (mju mini), and im pretty sure none do it but I was wondering if anyone knows better.

Yeah I was after a shop (i.e. comet, currys, jessops) or whatever that would match the price of a website. Ive ran kelkoo though and its found me some pretty good ones, although i prefer froogle or pricerunner.

I work in Staples and we do

some shops won't do it on equipment, but we dont take a blind bit of notice to it

i think u also get 10% off or something

not sure if we got the Mju tho

EDIT: theres is also a camera shop near me that price matches cameras, but obviously u might aswell buy online

@ matt magoo: Do you know if the camera shop would match the price of an online shop? most companies say theyll price match but not online stores. How about staples? cheers

yep, both from websites, although staples say no for electronic goods

the way round is to either find a laxxed part timer who couldnt give a shit, or kcik up a fuss

coz we got this rule sayign we gotta do anythign to make the customer happy, even if it means cutting a loss on equipmnt

i cut the price of a pritner in half today coz the guy was whining

HA HA HA, thats great, im going to go and buy all my stuff from staples! What was the name of the camera shop, is it a large chain? if yes itd be really helpful, maybe I could con them out of a free case as an incentive to buy from them.

the camera shop is just called "sussex camera shop"

ive just checked and the have a website called Camera Depot

all their online prices are the same as instore

and im not sure if all the Staples are as lax as we are

we used to be Office World

i have an awesome job tho, all my friend work in tescos. The greatest thing about staples is they empower their shop floor workers, so anyone can throw in free shit and knock down prices, this means that if u sweet talk a nice enough sales assistant they wil be able to throw stuf in, make it cheaper etc.

btw finty

the guy was kciking up a fuss that his PC had no spare USB ports and he wanted a parrallel printer

he refused a hub, so i ended up giving him a more expensive parrallel enabled model, for al ower price than the crappier USB models

EDIT: I bought my Mju 500 from Sussex camera shop, it was about £70 cheaper than jessops

shame the guy that run the shop have no social skills and are accidentally offensive to pretty mcuh everyone that walks in

EDIT no.2 : Just checked price runner, and the Sussex Camera Shop / Camera Depot is the cheapest place to buy from on the internet, bit of a coincidence

also, why do u not wanna bu on the internet

Ive just had lots of issues with digi cams before, and would like to be able to walk into a shop to take it back rather than have to send it off which usualy takes aggesss... That shop is cheap, I may have to buy from them....Are they an individual company do you know at all? its just that If they are I might be able to wangle a deal for a bulk order that would otherwise be impossible.....

accroding to the site they have several shops in sussex

u should be able to egt a bulk order deal, just ring em up

they really are an interesting company

the two guys tha trun the shop where I live (HORSHAM, SUSSEX) run the entire busines s of all the shops nd the website

they seem more than happy to offer amazing deals

i think the way they do it is sell loads of em for cheap

so they would probably be quite partial to a bulk buy

they also are very good with returns, my friend at college broke his SLR camera, they exchanged it on the spot, no problems

u'd get a similar situation if you went into a staples also ;)

some one came in with a £200 printer and all they said was "its broken" and my manager just took the customers name, and handed them a new one

EDIT: where abouts do u live?

derbyshire, theres no where decent nearby....although i thgink there might be a staples.... The deals seem reasonable, and buy bulk i really mean 2. but IOll give them a ring tomorrow and see...cheers for all the help and info mat, i really appreciate it. need a hand with anything ill do what i can!!

Nope, I don't know of anywhere in Derbyshire that's good either, duck :p.
Staples is ludicrously overpriced.
P.S. Where in Derbyshire do you live? I live in Swanwick.
