Would just like to know. Never really considered it myself. If you use it, why? (pros/cons) etc....

I don't use it.

I would if it loaded every program but alot of them crash when booted from wind-ups. Also unless you flash your bios you have to load it from free launcher which means you're kind of using freelauncher twice in a row if you boot anything from wind-ups.

I have to say though it looks impressive and its a great way to amaze people by showing them that a windows style application is possible on a GP32.

Some of the tools are useful in their own right but there is nothing you can't really get as an independant program anyway.

I dig wind-ups because it allows you to customize things alot and thats really cool. I also like some of the other software that comes with it like the notpad thing. The virtual keyboard they use for that is pretty impresive and the way its layed out really makes it fast to use. The down side of it is that it can't run comercial software. I really don't see the point in using it unless it can run everything which is why I don't use it by default. I do have the multi boot firmware which I like alot wind-ups is included in that and I must agree if you're going to use it having it installed as the bios is really the best way to go.

I use it through multifirmware.
Before I flashed my firmware it would take me like a minute to run a program,
now it's 5 seconds.
I don't think anything crashes anymore with spiv's fix.
The pros are:
fast for loading your favorite programs.
similar to windows.

cons:
when you put a new file on the smc it takes forever to find it.

overall:
not recommended if you haven't flashed your firmware.
And if you haven't, I think you should.

ralp99: Its already been patched when you use the multi-fw (and I think on the encrypted ver you can get from #gp32 as well, but get back to me on that one)

I use it via the multi-fw. Previous to that, I used pacrom; both speed things up *a lot* since they load .fxe files directly. THat's the main reason I use them. Note that I wouldn't bother if I hadn't flashed the f/w. If you don't do that then there's little point as it takes as long to get into windows as it does to go by any other route...
