I think microsoft are backing them, they also have no plans for a handheld of their own, so its fairly likely

does anyone mind me saying that classics pack looks just like the joypad tv games we now have for about a tenner and is therefore shite value

also am i correct here? i heard that the gizmondo is about 300 quid normalement but if you subscribe to text alerts and stuff its about 100.

what, they never supported SEGA

SEGA just used windows as a core for their online play

they are also not supporting Gizmondo, Gizmodo has just liscensed Windows CE IIRC

is anyone looking into buying a Gizmondo, because I am becoming more and more intrigued, I may buy one whn Colours is released

my bad, i was getting it confused with this news stor

http://www.gamingworldx.com/features/Edito...Nightmare.shtml

its old, but i was thinking microsoft was supporting Sega when actually it was buying stuff from them to use for xbox.

Also, the Jiz is gonna be running windows CE, so how powerful is this thing going to be for emulation, if it ever happens, when you have to program an emulator to share resources with an operating system. It's like my PocketPC, i have windows mobile 2002, overclocked to 232mhz with 64mb of ram but NES emu is shitty on it because of Windows CE using alot of resources.

Has anyone read the snippet in the latest Edge called Augmented Reality or something simular?

There's a demo which uses a tilt function simular to what was going to be included with Mecury originally. The interesting thing is the way it goes about it; it uses the camera on the back of the unit to track movement and create the effect. It'll drain the batteries faster than a standard sensor would, but that's certainly a nice feature.

I'm not gonna get one until it runs homebrew software.

Well, I get a new phone in September, have 5 256Meg SD-Cards from my digital camera... so if it CAN run homebrew soft, I consider getting one :)

It seems kind of cool because of how powerful it is compared to the GP32, but the screen is smaller, and it has a bunch of stuff I'd never use. Plus, it's like $400. The only thing I've ever spent $400 on in my entire life was a multitude of airsoft stuff including a gun, magazines, BB's, a battery, a charger, and a discharger... I'm not spending that much on a gizmondo. If I ever get one(doubtful), I'll wait a while until they're A LOT cheaper and have homebrew stuff on them(but only if it can emulate something the GP32 can't, or for some reason, SNES is a lot better on it than GP32. I definitely don't need 2 machines for the exact same thing + a camera).

I don't understand how this is going to compete with the price tag it is going to carry. The PSP is much cheaper, will have much better support, already has emulators, will eventually have them for 1.5 firmware and homebrew, can play MP3 and movies.

You say the Giz is more powerful than the PSP, but when it comes to homebrew and emulation i think the PSP will be more powerful. The PSP is not running windows CE or any other operating system to interfere with the systems resources like the giz is. The giz to me is an absolute waste of money. The games being released, other than Colors, look retarded. I alredy have a digital camera, and don't give 2 shits about GPS.

I predict that this system will fall harder than the N-Gage.

Don't you all forget that it will be cheaper bundled with a mobile phone contract...

But since you are paying for the mobile phone contract they still get your money, just a little at a time rather than all at once.

Meh the 2.8" screen is too damn small, when will these guys learn. Haven't they learned from the PSP? Small screens suck.

The size of the screen doesn't matter to me one bit, i've been playing portable games since the original Gameboy and that was a small screen. Yes it would be nice if it was larger, but 2.8" isn't that bad, my psp screen is nice, the DS screen i'm happy with, to me its a good size, the GP32 screen is perfect size though, and we are all spoiled here with our Gp32 screens.

I NEVER would get the version bundled wit that sim card. First, it´s going to cost you more than the normal version in time, second you are always buggered by advertisment. Would you buy a PC that is 100€ cheaper but has popups every 10 minutes? I guess no.
As for the screen, well i think 2.8" are OK, but on the other hand...

I like big screens and i cannot lie,
you other brothers can´t deny,
That when a PSP walks in with an stylish case
And a big screen in your face
You get sprung
Wanna pull up tough
Cuz you notice that screen was stuffed
Deep in the games i´m playing
I'm hooked and I can't stop staring
Oh, PSP I wanna get hot
And take your screenshot...
