I've been using one called "mp3 player" and another called "gp mad mp3" but they both have very limited options, eg I can't seem to rewind or fast-forward.

GP Mad MP3 is the best one. It can rewind and fast foward, just look at the readme (A + left or right)
Nice one, thanks. My copy didn't come with a readme.

Does anyone know how to rewind/fast-fordward on the other mp3 player I mentioned?

GP MadMP3 has no Playlist editor, but fast forward and PreAmplification.
This MP3 Player has Playlist support, but none of the aforementioned features.
The best audioplayer is SV Orbis, but it only plays .ogg´s .

:( Shame! I prefer the sound quality of this player to GPmadmp3.

1) I think the best music player is SVOrbis, but alas, it only plays in ogg format.

2) Ipods are overatted, and too expensive for what they do, compared to other players on the market which are cheaper, such as Creative Zen, Rio Karma, or most iRiver products, and have more features, such as FM radio and colour screen.

The ogg players on the GP I've found are way better than the MP3. I've always had trouble using different bit rates / VBR etc with MP3 on GP.. I'd love it if there was some kind of streaming app for radio shows, but I think that would be too processor intensive.

Sony HD3 beats ipod in every category - 30 hour battery, 20gig hdd, only let down is software, but if you can handle a big red button that says "transfer" then you should be ok.

Why slag off ipods? They look the best and to be honest aren't expensive. who needs a fm tuner anyway? the whole point of an mp3 player is to put music that you like on it, There are so many crap songs on the radio, just listen to music you like!

I was thinking of the Essential Mix to be honest, its the only radio I listen to :p

I'm not slagging off ipods, its just my HD3 is better (I have used ipods before, never again)

I totally agree on both points :)

I agree, iPods are overrated, overpriced and IMHO, not all that nice looking neither.

IPODS rule, they aren just overpriced not over rated!!! There are cheaper MP3 players that work as well but don't bge putting down the IPOD!!!

Well, most of the cheaper mp3 players are actually better then the IPOD, just because the adverts on television tell you ipods are so great doesn't mean they are, they so overpriced, and, overrated, entirely. They are decent MP3 players, but there such betters ones at a cheaper price.

linux sez:

"By far the Best MP3 Player is MP3 Player, it is included in the GP32 Manager Software with the newer game parks."

Unfortunately he sent it as a moderator post report instead of a reply. Please don't do that again :)
