Has anyone used this emulator yet?
I'm very impressed with it myself, only I have a problem with it. :(

Has anyone got sound to work with it, It doesn't seem to want to work.

When I enable sound the emulator locks up, I have tried several different games and get the same result, it freezes and I get a sound loop.

I hope someone has had the same problem as I have and managed to sort it out, as I think this is a great Emu.

Cheers for reading. :)

Yes, I have the same problem. It seems to have trouble ever coming back rom the menu. I can get sound, by selecting it, and then going back to the rom select menu and reslecting the rom I want to play.

Bit of a shame really, apart from menu problems its great.

Are you pressing L+R to get into the menu? If so, then don't. Just use R. L is fast-forward, and going into the menu during fast forward causes a freeze.

Now we have 2 full speed emulators, GPEngine and Little John 0.2. Now if we can only get a full speed SNES emulator going, I'll be in heaven :). Oh well, back to River City Ransom for me, the game is REALLY hard on advanced mode...especially the bosses >.<.

There are way more than 2 full speed emulators. In fact, neither GPengine and LittleJohn are true full speed - you can't run them at 133Mhz with a full 60fps and sound at 100% speed.

Some true full speed (60fps with sound and 100% speed) emus on GP32 include fMSX32, Atari800, Frodo, SMS32 and a few others that I'm not thinking of right now probably.

Just to be accurate.

Aren't people sick of nintendo on hand helds yet? We have a GBA console, NES emulator,GBC emulator, partial SNES emulator. C'mon lets get some sega up and running.

I'm having just as much fun playing sonic for the SMS as I would be with the Genesis version. The sonic series on the SMS really showcases the capabilities of that system. You can clearly see how the master system COULD have blown the NES out of the water, if only game development, distribution and advertising had been handled properly.

I understant that here in the USA, Sega never had more than 15% share of the home video game market (before Genesis, anyway) versus Nintendo's 70%. Well, at MY middle school it was about 50/50, and you had to be on one side or the other. I was always a Master System kid :)

It wasnt segas mistakes with Master System, Nintendo made sure that if a developer wants to develop for the nes they cant for any other console and only a few could work on both. Sega had to make most of the games themselves and good ones they indeed made.

Can people get 100% speed using little john? With sound mine slows down quite a bit. A lot faster than nestergp tho without sound! Savings pretty good too

For smoothness, definately choose frameskip 1 (very occasionally 2), the auto frameskip seems a bit choppy to me.

...and I find that frameskip adj (or whatever) works best on 20% for most games. So you can see running animation in Mario bros etc. and Flashing sprites after death in Super Mario and other games.

I think the above settings, with sound should be the default, with 2x sprites on too.

[edit] ...Yes this does give 100% speed. As near as damn perfect.

surely if it was "damn near perfect" then it would have 0 frame skip and run at almost 100%? Im not putting it down or anything, its excellent, i just think that there is still room for improvment

I mean you can play a game at 100% speed at 30 fps - which is faster than the human eye can see anyway (debatable :) ) and really not notice any difference to the original nes gameplay.

I've been playing this emulator all morning and, withoutout getting technical, it just feels almost perfect. - Same way as GP Engine feels almost perfect.
