I noticed that in Korea you could read Manga online, whole volumes of it for like 50 cents to $1

So it got me thinking, why not have portable pay to download packs for the gp32 with the same protection it has now for english/french translated manga. I mean there are enough publishers.

I mean the publishers arent losing any cash off the prints and Im sure joygp could handle the bandwidth. Piracy wont be as rampant (Unless someone tries really hard).

He said that they could distribute the manga through JoyGP, which means you can pay by credit card or Paypal. The only problem is that most of the manga will be in Korean...and I'm not sure if you'd like to see really small pics or scroll through a really large one...it kinda ruins the manga feel.

As much as it would be nice, it would have to be done well to work. You could have a full page view, and a highlight to zoom on individual frames.

You could pay someone else to get it for you, simply pay them and then log into paypal as them (if they trust you) to insure that the game is encrypted for your GP32.

Does this mean you don't have moviepark?

Calintz, would it be possible to contact BADA from Entware and ask propose the Manga reader idea?? I think it would be a great little addition to the GP32.

Ive beeen degrading image size with a couple of mass converters. And using image viewer. Its a little tedious at first, but not bad.

and as i mentioned before, we could use english publishers.
I thought this alternative might be better for the less budget blessed people. I mean each manga book here is $10. way too much if you wanna collect a series.
That is if you compare it to the Korean manga/manhwa its like 3,500 won = around $3.50
And the quality of the book (cover, translation, font) is so much better than what these American publishers are doing.
I'm sure it must be due to the fact that comics of that sort arent as popular in the states

and TJF even if i proposed it, GP might just ignore me.

its true they might ignore you calintz, most companies large and small usually do. BUT you never know. Maybe a petition is in order. I admit, its true that Manga isn't that large here in the states, but the immergence of this media on the Gp32 could be another step towards gathering popularity in the american comic book genre.

Like I said who knows.....Even so...I give you credit for an idea thats very innovative and exciting to think about.

thx. I did infact msg that BADA person.
If it doesnt work we could always make our own converter/viewer thingy.
Damn i wish i could code. But I always fall asleep reading those books.

only thing i can do is html =\

anyone know a good image converter? That one korean image viewing app seems good. But i need to resize em.

Thinking about making a site with premade packs of unlicensed manga for that viewing. Ill log the traffic to each file. And then give it to EntWare

thatll work too. Ill be posting em in volume zipped increments.
currently will start with series : Zombie powder.

Project in consideration : Flame of Recca, E's, I's

btw iredsoft has a really good tool called imageresizer. Goin with that one

Maybe you should make a manga viewer (kinda like that comic viewer idea)

Which reads the images from a zipfile and loads them by numbers like

flame_recca_01.jpg etc or something like that B)

You can then have a grovey menu and have series sorted out kinda like salamander but u can go to the next image instead of back to the menuto see a new image.

I was talking with a friend before I read that NiN and hopefully he might be willing. Gonna look for the source of image viewer

Well there is 2 people you could ask to adapt there programs if they have time.

1 is The author of salamander its basiclly what u would want just a few graphic changes and zip support and zoom but basiclly thats it.

iMAPPY

It supports gifs and can scroll the whole page problem is the image is restricted to 1000 pixels by height and width.

I Would ask the salamander author if he could but dont forget that you asking him to do something so dont be surprised if he says no its his right :)

=\

true. I was oping something on the lines of ACDSEE.
It reads zips, and fit to screen width not length. Or you could do complete fit to screen. and zoom.
