Who will win?

Who will walk away the victor?

Who will be purchased by me?

YOU DECIDE!

How much money have you got to spare? If the answer is several hundred quid then buy a decent amp and speakers if the answer is a hundred quid buy a decent pair of headphones and possibly a cheap headphone amp.

As I posted above. My brute of a 5.1 amp which launched at 450 quid cannot match the quality musically of the little headphone amp. Having said that a couple of hundred quid will get you a nice stereo amp.

speakers! its not even an issue. i have a pair of wharfedales hooked up to my denon, and theyre infinitely better than the sennheisers i use.

Plus, i hate playing WITH sound on handhelds for some reason. I cant play without sound on consoles, but handheld sound just annoys me.

I'm not a fan of the GPs tinny little speakers so I've got a little pair of philips powered speakers that I plug into my GP when I'm at home. They sound as good as a reasonable TV speaker. I use them for both games and GPcinema. Maybe you could try something like that?

Is it wrong of me to see no difference between a £250 setup and my £20 5.1 speaker set? Guess I'm just not that sensitive to quality.

LOL Of course it's not wrong. I would however be surprised if you couldn't tell the difference between the setups if heard one after the other.

My earbuds sound great but if I put them on straight after listening to my decent cans they sound lifeless.

i got a cheap 5.1 arrangement and cheap headphones...I tend to using the headphones, because 5.1 isnt THAT important and i dont have the room to set it up correctly, so I use the headphones. also, they have some kinda weird bass boost thingie which gets power from an usb port and is just WHAM, they're vibrating with the bass!!!11one :p
would like to get 5.1 phones, though....or a creative X-Fi, it's supposed to simulate surround sound on stereo headphones (no idea how that works, though) ... but the price is kinda....High ^^ 130€ for the cheapest version and 350 for the most expensive....that will be the headphones then :D

Fooking nora, they're speakers!! Just get a bloody £15 set with a standard subwoofer etc and be done with t! What be the point of spending loads on speakaes when you can hardly tell the difference?

I've got Icemat Audio Siberia (Black). I like them. Fit snugly, and sound good.

And look meaan!!!

Mine are black, they look even meaner. :)

speakers. keeps you're head free of itches, headphones tend to fall out of you're ear, and they hurt when you lie down :).

speakers are much better (unless they are crappy ones like in the gp32, which are basically headphone sized speakers anyway)
