Sms Games

wonderboy in miracle world
fantasy zone 1,2
choplifter (still damned fun!)
thunderblade
rtype (i know, PCE is better, but this one has a bonus stage!! and fun for kitsch)
dead angle
action fighter
transbot
power strike 1,2
shadow dancer
rampage
phantasy star!! (duh)

too bad the 3D glasses wont work on this thing.. those were cool!!

Golden Axe Warrior (the coolest Zelda 1 ripoff ;))
All Sonics (Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic Chaos (best one!!))
Mickey Mouse - All Illusion games
Donald Duck in: Lucky Dime Caper
Alex Kidd
Ys (strange but good)
Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine

Most of the best games have already been mentioned, but there is also:

Asterix (but not the 'Asterix and the ...' games)
Out Run
Populous

Gauntlet was very good on the SMS but probably not worth playing as a single player game on the GP32.

Someone should merge this with the post in other console forum ;) gamingmaster, you should really know by now where this belongs...

Robocod (probably the most visually impressive game, and excellent too)
Wonderboy, Wonderboy2, Wonderboy III
Dizzy, Sonic Chaos, Fire and Ice,
Astro Warrior (I like it :) )
Ys, Fantasy Star.

Funny thing about Sega Master System - it's one of those system I would never have bothered with had it not been for the GP32.
For me this exploration of "other" systems has been a great part of the fun of having a GP32.

I would probably never have "discovered" Master System, PC-Engine, Atari ST and to some extend Mega Drive, had it NOT been for the fact that SNES-emulation was not really worth the bother... Funny thing - because those systems actually has so much to offer (I think PC-engine version of Aero Blaster kick Mega Drive butt).

Anyway...
Sega Master System's graphics really impresses me. I believe that if the sound-chip didn't suck so much, there would be no demand for the 16-bit generation :p

Joking aside:
There a lot of impressive games available for it, but I guess most of them exist in a slightly better version for Mega Drive. However I find the only GREAT Wonderboy game doesn't exist for Mega Drive: Wonderboy in Monsterland.

But I can really only just repeat other people... Howver most of those games mentioned exist for Mega Drive too. Think Psyco Fox is only for SMS though.

Castle Of Illusion, Robocod, Wolfchild is worth checking out.... if just to be impressed by the gfx - compared to what systems like NES and C64 could do.

Wonderboy 3 is MUCH better than 2 imo, infact Wonderboy 3 is proabbly one of the best 2D games ever made.

Don't confuse it with the piss poor megadrive platform game! The SMS version is an action RPG.

thanks guys. I have like 40 games on my 128 smc now

i pretty much have the really good ones. and i must say, Wonderboy is a SUPERB game. the whole series really is :)
