One program id really like to see a clone of on my GP32 is winamp, or at least a version that i could run outta windups. I love the way winamp is so economical on space and doesnt take up the whole screen allowing me to do whatever i want at the same time.

Heres to dreaming....

hmmm i always say this ..... so i'm going to say it again
i would like an equaliserrrrr :( :( :( need equaliser because of lack of bass and well i know erm gpfm or one of the filemanagers that plays mp3's has an equaliser but it only supports 1 type of mp3 at 1 recording quality. I think really i would love the new mp3 player beta with an equaliser :D

Thats not the problem. There are a few things you can do to have bass.
1, dont turn it up as loud, the louder it goes the quieter the bass gets. It does this to prevent distortion.
2, get a small amp, or diff headphones
3, yes, an eq, but might distort when you turn the bass up.
4, encode your mp3 with louder volume might work.

winamp for windups would be cool...

This could be more of a possibility, The player is called STP (System Tray Player) and is a tiny mp3 player (208 kb), This is what i use and the source is available.

More info HERE.

This is what it looks like,

Looks like a pretty sweet player. The only thing that im woried about is that there seem to be abba and nsync tracks in the play list... not really my taste in music

Has anyone noticed that the GP32 is winamp? You've got MP3, movieplayer, all in seperate windows you can switch between with a flick of the power button, and to top it all off you get fully interactive visualisations, some of which require frameskip and a few have save states!

I think the only reason people want winamp is so they can have an eq. I would rather see a really efficient mp3 player that uses low resources so someone can multitask, maybe play sms without sound and listen to mp3s...

tbh i hadnt tried any mp3 player on my gp32 until i saw this thread, i had a play with that official beta 2 over the weekend, and was very impressed with its interface. However, since i use the multi-fw, and boot straight to wind-ups, its a job and a half using this mp3 player as i have to boot it from the gp firmware :(

Is there an mp3 player for windups? or am i wasting my time :)
