My skills are average, nothing like what some guys are capable of on this forum but still I would consider myself as 'good'.

So if you have graphics that need to be done (like textures, bakgrunds, menues etc) I'll be glad to help.

But I'm not good at drawing any characters equal to the sexyness of the ones in AV and Fire&Fire....

huja!

can you do 360 degree images, what would be cool is 5 positions in 360degrees inside a room or something

pardon, but I don't understand :p

well I think I understand but I donät know why and what and where ...

I've never done much artwork for games exept som 3d-shooters and rts on PC ...

i think he means if you stand in the middle of a room and tiwn around on the spot you see all 360' of the room. he wants to show this in five images.

posting a link to some examples of you work might help, too.

Ive found a 360 image to experiment with "watch this space"

I think a 3d package will be required tho.

Hi!
If you like I could render a couple of panorama images in 3D studio Max for you to experiment with..

Yeah thats cool, if you have a nice scene, we could make it look like an early game with a few positions.

I think, what I'd like to see on the gp32, is something of this, in the ilk of myst.

personally, this idea is worth fun fun fun to me.

i'm a musician and i'd like to contribute to this game, with whatever sounds you need. i have an extensive studio, and i can produce any type of sound. from booms, to clanks to spooky strings.

i am however worried about the filesize heavy nature of this game, and its many megabytes of images.

not to mention the game engine itself and the sound effects and music.

I'd like to lay out a project roadmap and get a programmer on it. I'm no programmer myself, only a multimedia-ist.)

I dont imagine this being a difficult game to program, after all, its a simple case of a 3d viewer that loads differnt images into the panormama engine via stimuli. The images would ahve attached looping sounds and possibly speech/sfx.

if anyone would like to get back to me on this so we can start a project. then here is my email:

deepthought5@hotmail.com

anyone up for it?

I will dig up my old Panorama script for MAX and make some simple panoramas. Any requests? Indoor scenes or outdoor? Outdoor is a lot more time consuming.. I could do some basic stuff so we know what kind of format you need.

By the way.. I also like the idea of making a Myst like game. :) perhaps walking around in a big spooky "alone in the dark" like house :)

a problem i have is the 3d viewer. essentially, i'm not a coder, only an audio engineer, and to a certain extent, a planner and visualist.

the plot of the game should be myst type spooky, but a sort of 'tribute'.

wind ups has a 3d viewer, derived from java technology. and i like it, i think (well, i think the web version since the wind ups one is unavailable right now) its very good and exactly what is required.

first of all, i think that this project needs a coder.

any biters?

i think, thats this should be a full smc game. 16/32mb.

the rich multimedia capabilities of the gp32 make the panoramas a very good and solid base for a game. regarding the lack of pure 3d hardware.

can anyone give me some examples of filesizes?

for instance, if i had my way, there would be literally hunderds of locations. and sounds for each.

not to mention the scripting engine responsible for the whole deal.

so, once again, i state, those who are serious about a...

"Full blown 'Myst' type tribute game on the gp32 using panorama and 3d sound technology",

them mail me on the address stated above.

An indoor view of different 360 degree images of diferent positions.

the postions have to be relative to each other like ones north of an other etc..

the resolution im using atm is 1678x240. which is about 300k per image in gif, which is not too bad imho, considering that the size of a 320x240 image in raw format.

I will make a couple of images you can try, keeping it really simple untill we know what works. should have some finnished by tomorrow, is that ok?

Fine animator.

Normen can you draw a hand like a doom hand, and one with a key and a few objects.

Can you do game icons of the objects too?

Sorry, I thought there would be use for more than 1 gfx artist. Just say the word and I will back off, No hard feelings. If there is interest I have a panoramic image ready, just tell me where to mail it.

no no sorry, was a bit cranky that day... the topic just got where I din't expect it to go.... I've got one 2 projects att the moment + taking my driver's license so I don't really have the time right now, so go ahead, I might be the one that started the thread but I din't come up with the game idea...

how's it going with it anyway? sounded pretty good

Getting a driver licence allmost made me into a nervous wreck, so dont worry about it. Making a game like myst (if that is what this will lead to) will have use for alot of GFX so there will be plenty of work. I'm still waiting for jlebrech to give me an email adress so I can send my panaramic image to him.
