Another Bad News From Gp2x.co.kr

I'm glad it's only a delay because of the firmware. I hope the factory can keep chugging out GP2X's. Any idea if they've started on the second batch yet? :)

USB2.0 is important but the old 1.1 would be bearable. And when using MMSP2's usb there would be a host mode too. And no problems with firmware probably. And the GP2x would be somewhat cheaper to manufacture.

Damn this USB 2.0 chip!

Cancelled my preorder....much better stuff to spen my cash on and TBH after reading up on thing in the last wekk or so i dont think this unit is going to be as good as everyone thinks.....

Anyways have a good ride...im outa here :)

More good news! Everyone behind stepp in the queue just moved up a place! :D

The wait will be worth the while , I have only just pre ordered last week so I dont have the frustration of some on here , but anyone who cant wait a few extra days is surely missing the point. The Gp2x will not be all singing all dancing when it finally is released ,thats just the beginning ,the scene will build and build more and more people will program for it and the whole scene will evolve . Go and buy a sony psp if you want an up and running games machine , but the Gp2X and the Gp32 before it are not your "normal" console.

BTW well done to CraigX for taking this on , I have not had alot to do with him since I bought all the rom cds and my GP32 a few years ago ,but he is one of the good guys.

When I think about it, now, it's going to only hurt those who are one of the first batch people, which I'm not. :) Because it's not a hardware issue and they're still manufacturing hardware right now. So, probably Craig and GP32z.com will receive fewer and bigger shipments instead of many smaller shipments when GPH fixes the Linux to Windows USB communication problem by next week.

You are right. The ones (I?) who preordered late might not be affected by this. Isn't a funny thing that ones who had most faith in the GP2x will (probably) not get units that much sooner. :D

I love all these impatient noobies. But am sorry to think they are all going to go back to their psps and dss.

I don't mind waiting a week or 2 more as the saying goes good things come to those that wait :)

At least it is not as bad of a delay as Elder Scrolls Oblivion that was just delayed for X360 and PC from this month to APRIL! Now THAT is a delay ;)

Well, better tht they wait.. if it fixes issues :) How pissed woudl you be if you got a flaky device? :)

jeff

Exactly...I can't believe some people are considering cancelling their orders over this. Can you really not wait a month for something you're willing to pay in excess of £100 for? Or do you just play with your new toys for a couple of weeks and move on the the next thing? It really doesn't make any sense to me.

Those people bailing now, in the "Final hours/days" etc before release - from what they have said, I am suprised they pre-ordered in the first place. It sounds like it was never what they were after, but maybe they jumped on the bandwagon to hang out with some funky people for a while.

It'll make no difference to the scene - which I reckon is gonna be huge, you can just sense it already ... even a lot of the "game players" are coming out saying they want to try their hand at developing, which is great. Bring it on - but only well its damn well ready.

LOL. People are actually cancelling their preorders because of a few days wait. Hahahahahahaha and hahaha ha ha haha.

If they don't want to wait they can always go for the new Ipod with Video which after seeing one in person in the Ipod retail store really really really sucks due to the tiny and not so clear screen(as the BS reviews would have you believe) and the ridiculous price point.
The biggest gripe is that it doesn't even allow you to fast forward at a reasonable speed(hold FF button down for 1 second which will FF the video for 10seconds which for a long movie will take you as long as the grass grows to reach the later parts of a movie). Blah.

A psp is nice but you can't play the newer games on UMD if you want to play the classics.

Sorry, lost my track for a second. The gp2x is going to be great. It may not "bring your late Grandma back to life" or "lead your dog fluffy home to you" but it will be one cool little versatile device. ;)

I think the main reason the delays are pissing people off is the fact that we have already paid for the system. It's not like we have just left a small deposit. We've paid £125 each upfront.

I wonder how much interest GBAX/GPH (not sure which it'll be) have made from having all our money for this long. And it goes up every day.

Any long delays and the cancellations'll flood in.

Actually, GBAX is down at the moment, which is irritating, because I want to preorder. I don't care if it's delayed, the GP2X is probably the most versatile thing since the GP32, maybe even more so.
