Neo Pocket Released !

Had a bit of a play on the folowing games .. these are pretty much up to speed and play great no real glitches in the graphics

Last blade
Metal Slug
Puyo Puyo
SNK Vs Capcom - Match of the millenium
Puzzle Link2
Samurai Showdown2 would almost make it up there bar just a couple of very slight graphical glitches nothing major ;)

Cotton appears to run full speed but quite a few graphical glitches, makes it hard to play.

load up but won't go past boot up screens
Puzzle Booble Mini (tied to different roms)
Pocket tennis Colour
SNK Vs Capcom - Card Fighters Clash -

For an alpha this is looking good loads already playable as is.
Good speed now all we need is sound but i can;'t see that nbeing a problem in later releases ;)

Nice one ;)

been a good day for the gp32 first Defendguin which is great fun and sounds great too then this :p

I tried it out and it is very fast. It is almost full speed on frame skip 3 in motm. This version is way faster than the one that was on that korean site. I really like the menu and the background picture. Can't wait until sound is added.

ThunderZ
One Hell of an Emu buddy!!
I was so impressed with its smooth running..I almost fell off my chair.
All of the GP Users out there owe you a great big debt of thanks.
All my own Roms work I have.
King of Fighters
Metal Slug
Cool Boarders
Last Blade
Gal Fighters
Fatal Fury
Pocket Tennis
and 2 others I can't remember off the top of my head.
Thanks again...and good luck with the next release.
"You are a god among men"
Well...at least a very good coder. Peace

I just tried, I`ve never played a real NGPC so I don´t know how it´s supposed to run but what I´ve ssen is both impressive and promising. Keep up the good work.

Compared to a real NGPC its roughly 80-90% in the default little screen/frameskip 2 mode. That is, fast enough that you wouldn't know the difference unless you'd played the real thing.

Which is pretty darn fast!

I downloaded it yesterday, and found Metal Slug (that so many people here seems to recommend) so I fired it up, and GOD! It's awsome! =D

It makes me wish I could code ;) Time to bring back the old C++ book, I think.

//emil.

Ok i have done some testing and EVERY neogeo pocket game will work on the gp32 the biggest rom is 4mb and that works on the emu

In trying these games i downloaded every game ever made for the ngpc (not including public domain games/homebrew)

I have a list of what games work and what don't but after trything them it is useless to say what works and what dont quite a few dont work and most had gfx glitches that make the games unplayable.

But from what i'v tested all games will work and when the gfx bugs fixed they will all play now all we have to wait for is sound.

When this is done i'll test every game and make sure they are working :)

Also skysnapper my puzzle bobble/bust-a-move works on the emu for me it has 1 gfx glitch that makes a line through the screen but it doesn't stop you playing :)

Some things you should consider Thunderz

Selecting roms try using a different source for that as its just alil bit annoying when you click down but you dont do it far enough. Altho this aint nothing major

The only other thing that should be done is ZIP support

After looking at the final size of every game all ngpc games will just fit on a 128mb smc card (its over 100mb) but when they are all zipped seperatly the file size comes out at about 30mb

Zip support is the only thing that should be implamented and maybe a names database so we know what were playing.

I'll help you out with the names database if you like.

My favorites:

- Neo Turf Masters
- Magical Drop Pocket

Fullspeed playable.

Great emu!

Best news in ages, thanks ThunderZ.
Can't wait to get home and download this baby.
:D :D :D

I`ve never been a big fighting game fan but I tried some Samurai Shodown 2 and even without sound that game is very fun. Must memorize all moves!

The controls aren't set right. The gp32 B button should be the ngpc A button and the gp32 A button should be the ngpc B button. The ngpc didn't have the buttons set up like the gba and gp32 (B button, A button), the ngpc has the buttons set up backwards (A button, B button). Are you aware of this ThunderZ?

Really cant believe how ppl go on about how good metal slug is I played it and its totally shite, very boring, very easy nothing to really grip me while playing it just very tedious cant believe how its supposed to be one of the NeoGeos best games!
Anyway the Emulator is great and like how I can play as little Street Fighter 2 characters in match of millenium. Just waiting for sound and save support and brilliant work!

When I set the screen to full screen the graphics do get quite a bit worse than the small screen view will it be possible to improve the graphics for this mode?
One other thing is it safe to run the emulator above 133mhz on the two other settings?

metal slug is shit? I guess your not a fan of metal slug type games. You should also try metal slug 2nd mission, I like it a lot more than the first metal slug. The metal slug games are also a lot funner if you have sound.
