OMG I can't believe all these problems now coming up.

I have just cancelled my order, will try and sell my 2GB SD Card to my m8 for his camera.

What a bunch of amatures, gonna pick up a PSP now instead.

Ah, the famous Sony UMD catapult? Mind the buttons, I hear they had problems with those at launch... And don't commit any crimes with it, that shiny surface is a forensic experts dream...

hello ? Battery life ? SD card ? Screen bug ? :p When the PSP was released there was a LOT of whining people because they had "3 little dead pixel" ... this is nothing compared to the GP2X problem. Ok now if everything is only a problem of driver and firmware i appologize but if that was as simple as this why they didn't wait 1 or 2 more week for sell it ..

PS: sorry for my poor english again :p

dead pixels = not fixable
software issues = will be fixed
I explained the battery life issue, its proapbly couse of cheapass batterys used.
Sd card will be fixed in a update.
Screen is fine, only software related, there ware people that wined about the gp32 screen couse it showed scrambled stuff when turned off (wish is completely normal for lcd's).

The "deadline" was never firm though was it? It was always "we hope" to ship by Nov 4th. Maybe I'm wrong.

As I said, GPH were very vague about the release dates and these delays they were never really up-front about caused the frustration that you say led them to rushing the units out.

Ok, firstly I'd hardly say that releasing the GP2X after several delays could be called rushing them out.

Secondly I doubt that a few unhappy customers really led them to "rushing" the units out at all.

Finally, if they'd been very open and honest about the issues involved, I'm sure we all would have been less anxious and more happy. Wouldn't you agree with that?

3) GPH fix the USB issue, but in doing so they create other firmware bugs which they don't take the time to test due to consumer pressure.

You think? I think it's much more likely that they just didn't test the units thoroughly, that makes sense doesn't it?

There was a delay already, the USB issue was at least something that the community could identify with and I think let GPH off the hook at that point somewhat. What is better for your customers and your business, rushing the units out assuming that they're fine or spending a DAY at least testing them to ensure quality control.

Seriously, how long did it take their own first 500 korean users to spot these bugs? Wouldn't you think then that GPH could have easily spotted these bugs themselves before shipping? I'm not implying that they did notice the bugs and ship them out anyway, however, not at all.

I agree that GPH are at fault for the last part, but it never would have occurred if those few people who cancelled orders were more patient. It's a commercial reality that release dates are flexible, and it's more important to get something right than to rush it out. Unfortunately GPH aren't big/strong enough to risk losing customers to do so. Witness Microsoft horribly dicking around their customers for the 360.

You're taking the blame on behalf of the community again even when you admit that GPH are in some way at fault. GPH could have been "big" enough to admit that the GP2X wasn't actually ready for release, told the community and their own countrymen that the device needed more testing, and I'm sure we would have been forgiving.

You seem to think differently, for me honesty and courage in the face of adversity go a long way.

Have you had the chance to compare it to the regular BLU? I'm interested to know if there's a visible difference. Either way, it'll be great.

Nope, I'm a proud first owner of a GP32 Blu +, lucky enough to have missed the years of other issues and problems in the manufacturing and release of other GamePark units.

All of that said, I seriously have the highest regard for GPH and what they have achieved. I just hope that there can be some more direct communication with the community in future, because we're the lifeblood of their console.

Too bad there's not going to be any more GP32 units produced. Although the *other* GamePark does own the license I believe, so maybe if we all take a step back from GPH fandom we could see if they're interested in producing more.

Now I ramble and go off-topic. Please consider.

Everyone needs to quit their bitching. If you don't like what you're reading about 'possible firmware issues', don't buy a GP2X. The GP2X isn't a PSP, it's designed for developers more than end users, and you need to have both patience and some common knowledge to use it.

If you don't like this, then the GP2X/GP2X community isn't for you.

common don't be to arrogant and stupid when you buy a console for 160$ you want a console who work. "On paper" battery life for video 8H and "14H" for gaming and at the end battery life is 2H max you can be a "little" angry . Now if you can't accept opinion of other maybe it's YOU who have not his place here because it's a community and everyone can give his opinion...

I don't see a problem at all. I'm looking forward to getting it just as much as I was before. People need to stop complaining.

Have there been any reports of dead pixels?

It's using the same LCD as the GP32 BLU+, for which I have never heard a single report of any dead pixels. It's pretty safe to assume it won't be an issue.

I think GPH have more than gone out of their way to accomodate all our wishes, whining and general crap. In any new product or system, there's bugs and glitches to iron out. And even the best designs can be imperfect the first time out. Normally this is done before release, true, but we were SO busy slamming them with "When is the release?" and "Why don't you add this?"

With all the additions, testing, delays and setbacks, if they hadn't been so eager to please the lot of us, and if they got less bitching from us when they announced a delay or setback, they might have delayed it a bit more and got most of the bugs worked out with the developers that have the dev machines.

I agree that this is "OUR" fault. Not the patient ones, with reasonable expectations so much.

I doubt there'll be many dead pixels.

acura, writer of this post is 16 year-old xgp wannabe and rumor maker and fucking crap.

Well, fair enough I can see where you guys are coming from, but I'm not taking any of the blame ;)

It's not my fault I say!

Anyways, I think I did make valid points, and now I'll burn my soapbox and hide somewhere safe ;)
