Got it all plugged in and stuff, fully charged batteries, 1gig card, USB connected to the computer, Windows XP recognises and installs a 'Linux USB Gadget', but then there's nothing. I can't find anyway of actually putting stuff onto it, nothing has came up in My Computer, but the device manager says it's working fine....

Any ideas?

EDIT
While I was writing this, the screen spazzed out and went blank. It drained my Ni-MH 2500s by just sitting there connected by USB for about ten minutes!
Would it help if I just went out tomorrow and bought a card reader?

yes - get a card reader - battery life is very poor should be fixed with firmware - if and when it comes!!!!!

Don't expect a major firmware release to fix most of the bugs until around January 2006. Since if you got the GP2X now, it's in a pre-release stage, so expect the worst of bugs.

Uniross batteries seem to be of very varied quality. I heard some people get up to 5 hours out of them while others get next to nothing
Try buying some quality NiMHs like Ansmanns(photo), GPs or Energizers (placed in order of quality).

Also read this carefully.

Might help you with your USB problem.

Card reader would definitely help. I think Craigix said that he'll send anyone a free card reader if you send him an SAE with your order number.

Just thought i'd bump this, as I have the same problem. Where is the gp2x supposed to come up, in My Computer?

But wrong direction people, where is the gp2x supposed to appear, usbmon recognises it in the usb port, says it's working fine, but I still can't figure out how to use it. Where does it come up on your pc?

You may need to add a letter to the device (like c: ;) ). Can't say you how as I don't use Windows, though. It's mentioned in one of these usb-problems-threads. ;)
