A Little Math In Battery Life

A guy posted some interesting info on GPH's official website. He got the specs from Energizer website that he used as basis on his calculation.

A 2500mah rechargeable battery lasts about 5 hours when it uses 500ma average. Final voltage was 1.15v, therefore it can keep the voltage above 1.2v for about 4.5 hours. From this figure and peoples experience on how long 2500mah batteries lasts, we can guess, GP2x uses about 550ma~700ma.

On the otherhand, arkaline batteries take only 30minutes to drop to 1.2v if it uses 700ma making it pretty much useless.

Now I'm happy that I bought batteries from eBay. 10 Energizer 2500mahs with a charger for $50 AUD (that's $35 US). 25 hours of GP2Xing without having to recharge anything.. now if only my GP2X would arrive. :)

codeninja: thank you so much for reading and posting what you find. i'm so happy that there's someone here who can break the language barrier... if that's what you're doing... if you're using google translate.... good work!

I am the one who posted it on the Korean website.

I just wanted you guys to know some information about battery types.

I know GP2x is not good at battery life.

I hope it will be better than now.

I don't know much about batteries but some other people on this forum posted that it also makes a difference if your batteries are heavy duty or not. Photo batteries would be best for the GP2X since they're supposed to keep their voltage up longer.
