Well my xvids the video was running way too fast for the audio (divx was fine). I upgraded my firmware and update mplayer...now the audio stays in sync but the video seems to be forced to do 15fps or slower...it's horrible. Any ideas?

Also, what's up with the screen? It seems like it's interlaced or something even though my files aren't.

I just read Annas post on www.gp2x.com about the firmware upgrade. It says they have fixed the video DOWN problem execept for files bigger than 1.5 mega. Please tell me she ment "1.5 giga" or "files smaller than 1.5 megs."

could that mean 1.5 megabits per second?

I know bitrate makes a difference in these things

Your probably right. Good deal! :D

Yes, I upgraded the firmware and the other update. I've tried a bunch of different videos, and so far only one of them plays at normal speed, and it's a divx one created with divxpocketencoder. other videos created using the exact same settings in the program run at the slow framerate, but work fine on the computer.

damn, the interlacing on this machine is bad though...it's like horizontal lines across the screen.

Before and after I upgraded my firmware, I've still had no problems playing back any of my material (admittedly I haven't tried any XviD stuff). All of my DivX-based anime fansubs playback without any hitches whatsoever..
