I never got to play shining force on gp32, it didnt seem to work back when i had mien :( cant wait to try it on gp2x though :)

- Alien3
- Decap Attack
- Lemmings (& Lemmings 2)
- Street Fighter 2: Championship Edition (and SSF2)
- Hellfire
- Zombies (AKA Zombies Ate My Neighbours)
- Populous (and Populous 2)
- Turrican
- Universal Soldier (actually a port of Amiga Turrican 2, with extra levels)
- Speedball 2
- Lotus Turbo Challenge (nowhere near as good as the Amiga version of Lotus 2, but worth a bash until we get UAE)
- Mortal Kombat 2 (SNES version was better, but this is good enough)
- Strider
- Bart vs. the Space Mutants

Just gave Gunstar Heroes a go...wow, that's one kickass shooter!

As soon as I saw Treasure's logo i knew it would be a winner. Their Dreamcast shooters are responsible for my double-size thumb. :)

Too bad I never knew about this one back in the day.

I'd stick it into the top 5 of Genesis/Megadrive games already I think.

Is it true that there is no genesis/megadrive version of the SEGA arcade game "Powerdrift"? I mean Sega would not have had to pay any licence fees at all and Powedrift was a game that came out during the megadrive/genesis hype. I am confused and I hope that I am just wrong.

My top Megadrive games'd be:
-Sonic 1, 2, 3, Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic Spinball, Sonic 3D
-Dynamite Headdy, Gunstar Heroes
-Earthworm Jim
-Decap Attack
-Cool Spot
-Skeleton Krew (hasn't been mentioned yet)
-James Pond: Robocod
-Ristar
-Marko's Magic Football (but the sound doesn't work on DrMD :( )
-Ren & Stimpy (nor on this)
-Super Fantasy Zone
-Global Gladiators
-Micro Machines, Micro Machines 2

Is it not the greatest console ever???

Are you sure about that? I have browsed the web, and I haven't found any evidence that this game exists for the genesis. There is another game called power drive or sth.

Perhaps more than any game on this list, Power Drift's lack of a home translation infuriates me the most. I know it was released on the PC-Engine and several computer formats, but that's not the point.

thanks for the link to this nice article. sad but true, no power drift for sega genesis, it's a pity, power drift is one of the best games ever.

Ok, here goes:

1. Dr Robotniks Mean Bean Machine - I cannot recommend this game enough, bought it for £2 and it gets played regulary by me and my housemates for hours on end.
2. Shinobi 3 - Very fluid combat system
3. Ristar - Swinging through the trees, headbutting enemies (possibly better than Sonic?)
4. Ghouls 'n' Ghosts - Very addictive and so much fun using a mega stick
5. Gunstar Heroes - Classic
6. Mickey & Donald in the world of illusion - Played alot of 2 player as a kid
7. Aladdin - One of the best Disney games ever released
8. Streets of Rage 2 - IMHO the best in the series
9. Smash TV - Arcadey goodness
10. Splatterhouse 2 - Simple and gory

Sorry, my mistake, it's Power Drive that I have.
Still, it's a good game.

Sonic 2/3/K is really the only proof I need that the Genesis is awesome. I'll be playing those long after you finish your latest Square RPG :)

No one's mentioned Crusader of Centy yet?? In that case...

Crusader of Centy

Hack 'n' Slash adventure game that's very similar to Link to The Past, it's excellent!!

...oh and the MD version of Rainbow Islands is sweet too, that'll keep me occupied until someone gets MAME to work :p

A real gem I've been playing as of late is Comix Zone. Just make sure you turn on English from the options menu.
