i sold my xbox on ebay for £102 with £15 p&p
this is what the winner replyed to me

Dear bobby,

I am glad to be the winning bidder of your game console,it was a tough bid,l was just lucky to have won it,l just have to stick with it,as I came on to ebay purposely for a christmas present for my niece.

I want you to understand that i'm currently in conference in Australia. I wonder if you could be so kind as to help me ship this item to my niece. She ask me for it as a chrstmas present.

i'm prepared to cover p&p. i'll pay through paypal add $40 for shipping to my niece where her parent(ny sis and her husband)are on an assigmnet for the Canadian Consulate in Nigeria, West Africa via Royal Mail International Signed For express post.

Thank you,

Danielle

i've heard alot of scams in nigera

can i hear your opinions

hmmm.....
That is a really tough call. Cant you message through ebay. Tell him to confirm it that way.

That does seem quite fishy. I would definitly ask to confirm, as that message is just plain weird. Mad wordy. I hate when people try to sound smart by adding in a jillion extra words

haha i know she could have said
hi
thanks
send to nigeria
extra £40
bye
oh and how do you confirm it

id say : dont do anything that you wouldnt ormal;ly do for the deal

i suppose if she just sends the money i have no probs but i do want the money 4 xmas so i might give somebod else a second chance offer

If you get instant payment, the payment cannot be reversed. But it he uses a E-Cheque it can be reversed.

I should know, my bro works for Sutherland a ebay call center :) Hes so cool haha!

Hopes this helps ya! Cheers

Why all these bad comments about Nigeria, why just the other day I transferred $25,000 to help save a former member of the Royal Family!

the words Nigeria and West Africa in a Email = a Scam.

What was the winning bidders feedback??? 0 or about 10 and all 10 items bought on the same day at the same time each with a dodgy description etc?

Just forget about it and what ever you do, DONT give them your address etc etc and DONT Reply to that Email.

scam! offer it to another bidder, anything to do with Nigeria tends to have more snags than a knitted sweater just been dragged through a barbed wire hedge overgrown with thorn trees, you`ll tend to lose both the goods and the money if you aren`t carefull, since all transactions are on a trust basis with no real legal backup then I would (in your position) just ignore that bidder, never respond and offer it to the second bidder, if you think it may be legit then just google Nigerian scam and read what you find, that should convince you otherwise.

Mentor.
