Not everyone can afford Ansmann batteries. Uniross only seems to get 5 hours with a lucky pack. So are there any decent cheaper alternatives? Also will different types of batteries work with different chargers. I.e. can Ansmann batteries be charged on a Uniross charger?

I use Energizer 2500s and a 15-minute charger (which actually takes ~20 minutes)

I get ~4 hours playing DrMD.

I use GP 2500mAh, which cost about 12 euros for a 4-pack.

The charger's the real expensive bit, but you really don't need a 15 minute or even 1 hour charger. I have a bit cheap 2-5 hour charger (priced together with the batteries at 40 euro), and it happily charges one pair of batteries while I'm draining the other one.

Ive got Famearts 2500 and they last about 5 hours Id say, not timed it or anything though, only cost 15quid with a 1-2hour (I think - I just charge them at night) charger.

a good charger is at least as important as good abtteries, bad chargers can ruin your batterys or dont charge them fully.

I got 8 2500mAh Energizer NiMH for $20 here in the states and it came with an 8 hour charger, it works fine for me, I just drain the batteries dead before I charge them.

That is the cheapest I have seen batteries.

It was at Sam's Club, I hear they are all out and now they sell the same kit for $25 and it comes with 4 more batteries: AAA 800mAh.

Hama 2600s from 7dayshop are meant to be good

Im using these, they take about 45 minutes to charge with the 7 day shop speedy charger and last about 4-5 hours (not sure on the exact times because i keep changing the clockspeeds).

Very good NiMH batterie:

-Sanyo
-Uniross
-Energizer

But if you have a cheaper charger which work with a temporisation, you cannot use it in full charge. So buy a good charger too (Delta Peak check your batterie charge) !
