Am I able to use (Read: upload Emus, ROMS, freeware games, etc) the GP32 with Mac OS X?

Just wondering, as I'm looking into getting one, but don't want to have to use (borrow) a PC to use the damn thing. :)

::crosses fingers::

Sure you can.. check http://www.deadcoderssociety.tk for Mac OSX tools & stuff
for GP32. Depending on the OSX version USB communication with GP32 can be taughter.
If you are using OSX 10.1.5 or earlier then GP32 USB works ok, for the later versions of the OSX you need to flash a patched firmware to GP32 (as its USB driver is bugged and thus OSX igneres it  )

I would really suggest you to get a decent SMC reader/writer. They are pretty cheap and
transfer files a lot faster than GP32 even does.

Having a PC around is a good thing when you need to register your GP32 or dig out the PDUID for the first time. I personally used a PC once to do the initial bootstrapping i.e. for getting the Free Launcher.. since then 100% OSX use <_<

If you can find an SMC reader/writer that works with OS X, it should be fairly trivial (except the Gamepark official registration). Also (and this is what I do, even on my PC), and digital camera with an SMC slot should work fine, so if you have a Mac-support digital camera you should be good to go.

Ok, so it looks like I'll need a PC for the initial registration (I can do that, no prob), and then a smart card reader for the rest (uploading things).

Ok, that's good; now I jus' have to get one. :D

In summary
You need a PC to register your GP32
You need a PC to register to buy Commercial games
An SMC reader for your Mac, At the moment.
If you have 10.1x on your Mac you can use Mr SPIVs MacLink software, without a firmware patch
If you have 10.2x on your Mac you can use Mr SPIVs MacLink software, with a firmware patch
You may still need a PC to rip movies so that you can use them on your GP32, I keep trying, but fail.
SMC cards need to me formatted in the GP32, with MacLink

NB MacLink is NOT the OLD file conversion software, it's a command line app by Mr Spiv.

That's about it!

(B+W G3/450) + GP32
