Playstation 1 Games On Gp32

Surely Sony would want to support handheld developers.

edit: TheMoose = humour bypass. Ban everyone anyway, it would be quite funny.

I was positive when I read the title that the author was joking. I was thinking he's either really unsure of the true capabilities of the GP32, or he's kidding.

Now I realize he/she was serious (I'm fairly certain), and that's pretty sad. Not to mention he/she probably didn't search the forums.

GP32 couldn't emulate a PSX if they doubled the ram, doubled the SMC capacity, boosted the CPU power to 200... Just not possible.

correct me if I am wrong. But I remember someone attempted it. It would load up some game, but would take ages to load and the framerate was close to nothing.

The author said he might start again once he got a gp2x.

I'm not trying to feed the fool, but at once point someone "loaded" a PS1 game on a GP2X.

Well, I'm not saying it's %100 to actually load up a game, but I assumed he meant at least %75 playable with or without sound.

I even agree with him in that it WOULD be nice if there was playable PSX emulator. Dare to dream, baby!

But in actuality, the person that worked on it for the GP32 never got more than a couple frames for second and no sound at all..... That's not an emulator, that's a slideshow.
Not to mention an SMC can only hold 128 MB total, by it's limitations, and the full CD games of the playstation would have been too large in most cases to fit on the card and the emulator and system rom too.

god dumbasses, sony is not going to support a portable EXCEPT the PSP, god use your brains.

Uh, I hope it's actually you, who needs to use their brain. If someone seriously thinks Sony would support anything else than it's own machines, they're craazee fools. And if they are kidding, and you think they are not, you are crazy fool.

It's a vicious circle. :p
