Hi all!
Do someone here know what is the lowest clockspeed in which the Gp32's CPU is able to run (I mean is there anything less than 16.5 mhz ?) ? (I'm going to turn my Gp32 into a simple text reader so I want to use my batteries as less as possible :p )
Thanks by advance :)

ah!! you are true, I forgotted flickering! ok, i'll already try at 16.5 mhz and else use this one... thanks :)

( edit: damn, i lost my guru status? :p )

WhiteFalcon made a txt reader app that worked at either 33mHz or 44mHz, it was very versatile and had formatting options.

His aim also was to clock as low as possible, I think he tried going lower and the screen flickered.

Hey, I don't remember the final speed myself :)
I wish I still had the source...

I think I managed to get down to around 22mhz before the flicker got too bad for me, but it can all depend on what's on the screen (I was using quite a detailed background - with something like block colours maybe I could have gone lower).

What is the clock speed of the GP32?

This is software selectable from many different speeds from ~22MHz up to ~133.5MHz. The slower the selected speed, the longer the battery life that you will experience. However, just because the CPU can be set for very high speeds does not mean that the rest of the system (in particular the SDRAM) can handle this speed as well. Bios v1.5.7 defaults the clock speed to 67.8MHz. FireFly and others have managed to run their GP32 at up to 99MHz, with instruction and data cache on, without noticeable problems. Some people appear to experience problems at this speed.
