Windows 95 Running On The Gp2x

I was trying to port Bochs, but then I gave up. Nice to see someone has put some effort in to get it running!

(Unless it's fake, in which case this post has made me look stupid)

someone try it then.. itll take like 6mins to boot :p

Does that mean you can run windows programs on it... Minesweeper!!!!

i'm gonna say it's fake, but i hope i'm wrong. the reason being that i thought the windows splash screen was a higher resolution than the gp2x screen...which would lead to stuff getting chopped off.

talk is cheap, speculation is free.

Are there any DOS emulators like ScummVM that someone can port, an emulator that has a wider range of games it can emulate?

ps: w00t first post lol

No, he'd simply scale it using Bochs' built-in scale function.

hope you're kidding about first post :)
oh i see, first post on the board. sorry, just a dumbass, move along, nothing to see, yes i'm a dumbass.

scummvm is an interpreter for a specific series of games. given that i'd say check the archives or the board for scummvm, clonekeen (commander keen), prboom (doom), and legacy, which can run a number of 'boot disk' cga games.

Nope he is using paeryn's hardware accelerated SDL the newest version has hardware scaling support.

Edit: Does someone here have the know how and a GP2X to test some basic dos games? Basic ones!

I think id go for a dual boot - Windows can be so annoying at times =P
@noreason - i think there might be but it would be one of the very first editions, so its low on resources.

isn't there a windows pocket version that shoud be able to run good on the gp2x's cpu?
anyway really cool to have windows on that if it's true!
There was a version for the Zaurus called zBochs, but all it did was replace the SDL stuff with stuff compatible with Qtopia SDL.

ScummVM is not a DOS emulator; its a SCUMM interpreter -- it reads story files from the Lucas games (and some others) and does what is needed with them to make the game playable. The story files are not DOS programs .. they're SCUMM programs, where that is in essence a cross platform virtual machine script file. (Tryign to simplify a bit here, while also being tired out :)

So ScummVM runs Lucas games; it dfoesn't run DOS programs.
