A call for the developers out there not to abandon the GP32. Were still out here and it seems like development has stopped for Mame, Dr. MD and some others. There are 30k gp32's out there.

That's just RUDE to post in the GP2X dev forum asking people to come dev for the Gp32 again. post it in the GP32 forums, or pm the devs. But don't make a topic that has nothing to do with the GP2X in a GP2X dev forum!

I have a better idea. Buy a gp2x ;)

[sarcasm]
Oh please won't the Atari 2600 devs come back!! :p

I guess a pm would have been even ruder, and calling out for settlers to come back to your ghosttown in its _own_ mainstreet is not very productive, is it?

Anyway, I never had a gp32, so I don't care so much about it. However, I'm pretty sure once the 'developers' get more experienced with the new platform, a few will go back and some will publish for both platforms. And if they don't, maybe it will be incentive enough for the OP to learn how to program for themselves?

P.

For what it's worth, now that I've got started with dev stuff, it's my plan to pick up a gp32 somewhere and start doing stuff for both platforms.

OH YEAH? WHY DON'T YOU DEV FOR THE GP32 YOURSELF? I WOULD START THROWING INSULTS AT YOU AS USUAL, BUT THOSE FORUM'S NAZIS ARE ALREADY ON MY TRAIL. . . "STFU N00B!" IS ALL YOU GET THIS TIME, BI0TCH!

Considering a lot of the homebrew games are SDL, it wouldn't take much to recompile them with the GP32 libraries.

You really do come across as being slightly unhinged with your outbursts. He wasn't insulting, he said please, he posted where those he is addressing will see it . What's the problem ?

The problem is that this specific forum is for development for the GP2X. Not the GP32, not the PSP, not the DS, not the PC. And any topic asking for someone to dev for anything BUT the GP2X does not lead toward GP2X development and is VERY rude.

If you look into the list of articles posted by the OP, you'll notice he already posted something similar earlier, and actually got replies from principal developers that they'd end up developing for both platforms. I can understand synkro being slightly annoyed (from his post, it seems that he wasn't really annoyed, or he'd have really opened up a can of insults ;) ) if this post came over to him as whining... There's a lot of double posting, whining, not-reading-of-fine-material-available, asking for things not really related specifically to gp2x etc going on here recently, which can be a little frustrating... No use in bottling up that frustration..

I realise English may not be your first language but 'rude' is hardly the correct term to apply to christo930. You may feel that he posted in the wrong forum but since he is addressing devs who have moved from the GP32 to here it does not strike me as unreasonable. If you need an example of rudeness read synkro's response and his previous response when someone requested something from a dev. There really is no call for personal abuse like that.
If you read what he says the only reason he didn't 'really open up a can of insults' is that 'the forum's nazis' (mods?) have somehow influenced him to be less offensive. He doesn't come over as whining, he comes over as either slightly deranged or as some nasty little schoolboy yelling insults from behind the safety of his browser.

chimpoid - try and get a BLU. The display is beautiful, the joystick is responsive and it boots in a second (without bricking itself) .

well, that nazi thing is a ference to a joke I did with Rico here. You kids may not be here long enough to know. I wonder how can take a response all in caps serious. nonethless, the frist posting was rude. end of argument.

FOr some reason, I thought I was posting on the developers corner, not the gp2x corner. I didn't even realize that there were seperate boards.
Sorry, Chris

What the HELL do you think is wrong with my grammar or choice of words? (or even spelling?) English IS my First Language, and I take that as a major insult you ASS.

I'm glad to see that that was a mispost. ^_^
