You would do this whilst I am at work ;o), I'll pop it on later when I get home.........just 6 hours to go (

Damn.. gotta go to work myself or I'd give this a download... :(

Is there any rudimentary sound support btw?

Works great. Is there going to be any sound possible for this emulator soon, also is Gorf a possible ROMset for the XCADE? Great stuff. Keep it up!!! :D

Thanks everyone!

I imagine Gorf is doable for GP32; the GP32 is not powerful enough to pull off the fancier games (RAM, processor locked up doing effects instead of hardware, etc), but Gorf is sufficiently old we'll see.

XCade currently has very limited sound support, but I can look into adding a bunch; we'll see how that MAME port comes.. since MAME of course has full sound, etc. If hes going to get MAME out in a month or two, its probably not a good way to spend my time working on XCade sound for GP...

I've been thinking of a DOS emulator (for running Wizardry series in ;), or maybe work on my Atari ST emulator some more.. playing Dungeon Master on my GP is high on my list of wants :)

For XCade.. theres still a dozen more games I can port into it.. support for Asteroids, Ripoff, Star Castle, TailGunner, etc.. you guys interested in those?

agreed!!! :D

ST emulator = Turrican 2, Supercars 2, Stunt Car Racer and more all on a handheld!!! = woohoo! :D

a DOS emulator would be great too though

whatever emulator you make, i doubt i'd be complaining!

Don't forget any of the above mentioned emulators, make 'em all. Can't go wrong with that. :)

Well, Turrican2 exists for DOS as well :)
And imagine Dune 2, Civilization, etc. :))

Sorry to put this thread back on topic, but....... Just downloaded Alpha 2. And what can I say, an excellent 2nd release, if only for the inclusion of Galaxians.

A couple of noticeables....(not that I am complaining mind)

Ms Pacman - The floating fruit was not showing properly, just a black square.

Galaxians - The upper right of the screen, when the aliens peel away from the pack, there is a slight blurring, this does not spoil the game at all.

Apart from those I can not complain at all, I'd like to look at Asteroids though, I never really go into it in the arcades, but remember seeing kids play for hours for their 10ps I mean literally hours and hours, talk about value for money. As is receiving FREE software like this, that just gets better with each release. I may have to get another SMC. One for Games and one for MP3's, I can see that day coming very soon

Thanks again Jeff, you just keep bettering yourself all the time

back off topic. I never had or played on an ST, but had an Amiga until a few months ago when I moved out here to the US when I sold it, and the games on that rocked... As to DOS I think that with the fabled GBA Emulator would really but this little machine on the Map

Just my two cents worth!

I was thinking of porting an Atari ST emulator, and noticed that there is an open source emu called Castaway, for which there already exists a ARM PocketPC port called CastCE.

Why not check them out to save reinveting the wheel?

i've never looke dinto CastCE, admittedly; I was more thinking of porting STonX as I'm fairly familiar with its codebase, and since its portable unix code its very easy to port. I've also got my own ST emulator (which has no graphic support mind you, but does do TOS apps really well ;) If CastCE is written portably, and as some ARM assembly, it coudl be pretty wicked..

My ISP went off the air the other day.. I'll catch up later :)

I just downloaded the Moon Cresta rom (Gremlin version with the epr. files) and converted them to XCADE format and then put the file on my GP32, the problem I have however, is that I get a message that says this is not a supported romset, it shows up on the menu to choose, but I can't run it. Anyone else have this problem? I have both Donkey Kong's romsets installed on my GP and they work with no problems, but no luck with Moon Cresta, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Joecool

I have all the current Xcade roms working, I'll get back to you when I get home in a few hours time (Currently 2pm here in the USA)

MrT

Ok, thanks MrT. At least I know now that it apparently is just my rom. I guess I'll try and source out another one. Thanks. :)
