it *should* be faster this time, we had alot of entries to get through in the gbax 2005 coding competition (multi console) and there was alot of work doing screenshots, writing information for each entry etc.

for this compo, if entries follow the guidelines it should make our work much easier as we have asked for people to submit a screenshot and some additional information.
Im happy to help with screen shotting etc...

Should be interesting to see what people come up with, not just original whacky games I hope (sorry)

I am looking forward to the original games, whacky or not!

full speed NES with sound would make me happy...

(Oddly enough, full-speed, unscaled, portable NES is one of the main reasons I got a GP2X. I never had any other console until I bought an Xbox and GC within the last couple years... )

Well I'm with Cbass, and am keeping my fingers crossed that someone will submit an improved NES emulator. I understand that most entries will be original games, and that'll be great too, but unscaled portable NES was also one of my main motivations for purchasing the unit. I mean is it really unreasonable to hope for some emulators to be in a competition hosted by emuholic?

My best guess would be that NoName might have a new version of FCEultra, which he released three versions of in quick succession, but hasn't seen a new release in over a month.

I guess we'll see in short order (only two hours left before submissions are due!).

HEY ITS MONDAY!!!
*Runs around the GP2X fourms waking everyone up* (really wierd because we are all in different time zones)

Well I don't expect to see anything out yet, but I can't wait for this next weekend.

Still seven hours before the contest closes!

I submitted my entry last night. I've had my gp2x for just about 2 weeks now and I must say it's a blast to write code for.

I hope you like mine!

I submitted my entry last night, once they're released everyone should try it (and leave TONS of feedback). It took me 14 days to make (and this is in my free time, i do have a life!). It is my first ever c++ project, my first ever SDL project, and my first ever gp2x project (before this I have only followed tutorials) and I think it turned out very well. I can't say anymore, i want it to be a surprise.......

Why dont people that submitted stuff just leak the details ?

I mean posting a screenshot in this thread wont disqualify you .

will it ?

Edit: and that way community hype might help you win .

Because we're going to make you wait. The competition is held by gp2x.co.uk and emuholic.com and they are providing the prizes so they get to be the first to release the information. They probably wouldn't disqualify you if you released screenshots but not the actual game, but they could.

Also, how would the community hype help someone win? They are judged by Craig and Guyfawkes.

I gave you enough hype earlier, not giving away too much though.

A visit from a old friend, yet new faces await in the midst.

And here's a hint on Deadlychicken's:

The golden hen is the key to the light.

That's quite the hint....

Here's another:
Three cross paths on Life, two survive but the fate of the third is sealed through the Soul.

EDIT:
(this actually does relate to my game, goity's is just crap he made up, he hasn't played my game)
