If you have M$ Word or another word processor that can mess with the margins/page size then this should work. I am writing this for use in M$ word, so adapt it to other programs.

1. Load up your document. (Make sure word wrap is on)
2. Select all the text and change it to 10pt font size.
3. Go to the page setup and change all margins to 0 and the page size to 4.25" wide by any height. I used 9".
4. Save the file as a plain TXT file and check the MSDOS encoding (optional) and turn on Insert Line Breaks option (CR/LF).

This makes it so no words are cut in half and uses most of the GP2X screen width. You can try to adjust the page size width to get it perfect, but I just wanted to get rid of the words being cut.

why should I choose 10 pt? That shouldn't matter to a plain text file? Right?

It won't matter when you save it, the 10pt font is for windows and the settings I used to make sure it wraps at the right place.

Alternatively, use a good text editor (none of that Notepad crap) and word wrap at 51 chars.

Finally, someone figured out a solution, thanks much
Yes, but is it really that much of a problem to have the reader do this by default? Either by an option, or permanently?

That's what xreader does, I think. Problem is, it does it each and every time you open the file, giving you horrible loading times - would be better, imo, if it edited the actual file accordingly.

I've found that the software Message Cleaner word wraps nicely (you can tell it to word wrap at 51 chars - win!). And it gives you a 30 day trial before starting to display 30s nags at startup, no functionality crippling, though.
