What do you mean by "Speaker Toggle" ?

I.E the software patch that turned the main speaker off when you used your headphones. Only applied to ones who had a solder gap on the head phone detection.

Oh. Yet another reason to skip 1.4
Apparently 1.4 is the last GPH release. So you might be waiting a while.

I'm not waiting for anything ... I'm sticking with 1.2.0 ... at least until a Windups-like GUI comes out

I've heard mixed messages on that point.

What I've concluded is that Dignsys has been fired, but beyond that it's fairly fuzzy as to what is going on.

Community firmware may rule. but I for one would be happy with a GPH firmware that would let me turn off the speakers AND keep videos in sync..as it stands I have a choice 'twixt one and t'other :(

On that point and increasing subject creep, any idea why under 1.4 my videos work just fine except for popping and crackling audio in the first or last thirty seconds of the file? Crazy strange.

Yeah, I had the same problem. Really pissed about upgrading now. I go from 1.0.1 to 1.4.0, and all that fucking happens is Speakertoggle is borked. Are we ever gonna see a firmware that does ANYTHING apart from making picture viewing nicer?
GRRRRR!!

On the Official development forum your can read that they are still working on a new version of MPlayer. Of course I don't know how true that is.

Hmm, with GPH's track record, it'll probably break MP3 compatibility, crash twice as much as it did, and quite possibly give you leprosy as well :p
I say the community stuff can't come fast enough!!
