i read on the file archive that the gp2x has dosbox...so my questions are can it play games or is it to slow/buggy to play them, if it can play games, or if it will do you think it could play TES1: arena? because it recomends dosbox for it to run.

oh well, do you think its possible to port it? (i dont think its open source though)

TES:Arena can't be ported unless the source code was released. As for using DOSBOX goes, there is potential for it since Tyrian2000 was emulated, more or less, at a playable stage. The minimum specs for Tyrian2000 is a P166 Mhz. The minimum specs for Arena is a 386 (25 Mhz). So I definately think its possible if someone was able to create a config file for dosbox.

so its posible, but is it anytime soon (im addicted to the series)

It's not really a matter of when the it will be done, but a matter when someone is willing to do it, which by the looks of it, doesn't seem very likely in the near-future. Maybe you should draw in more attention some the issue is recognized. I would have done it myself since I'm quite a fan of the series myself (OMFG ELDER SCROLLS 4 OMFG  ), but I lack experience to pull such a feat :( .

my guess is probally because i may know how to post things, but using the search is way beyond my comprehension...just like spelling

Actually, the minimum specs for Tyrian are a lot lower than that. I ran T2k, albeit at lowest detail, in turbo, with music on a 386 16MHz machine fairly well. So I'm kind of assuming that given that it's just about playable, that's the level of machine we're currently getting (mebbe a 12MHz one looking at how other games perform) - not too shabby, but probably not enough for Arena.

Especially considering that 3D games that looked any nicer than Wolfenstein ran on the same computer at about 2fps.
