I recently just noticed that the gp2x ext connector is the same one as the vx6000 phone connector. I was able to plug it in. Is there any potential uses for this?

cut off the cable and connect the proper pins, i wont plug it in "as it is" as it will most likely fry your gp due to wrong pinout.

Thanks for those, looks similar (in make anyway) to the Samsung one. Not sure about the pin-out, have to have a proper look later.

Looks like a call to LG is needed, seeing as Samsung weren't all that happy to help when asked about the connector! See if LG can tell me where they source their connectors from :)

Thanks again.

BenScar, do you have a samsung e810 cable? Because I'm wondering if it needs any rerouting to work with the gp2x (which I'm pretty sure it will), and if so, do you have a table or picture of the pin format?

Yes I do have an E810 cable, although I've discarded the circuitry that was in the USB connector (It was something like this (CP210 chip), wondered if it could be used with the 2x itself, rewired of course :) ).
I've used the wire that came with the cable although removed them from the pins they were connected to and put them on the GP2x pins as needed. Be warned I tried to get a "spare" connector, same title as the first (E810 USB cable) but on this one not all the pins were present.

You can look HERE for the pin out that I found for the E810, but it's not all that informative, just gives the USB pins used.

Connector Photo helped me out a lot when I was putting mine together.

Hope that's of some help.

I'm thinking that the e810 ext pin layout applies to the ext one as well? Well as in 1=1, 2=2, 3=3, and so forth.

I'm not sure..... I just went by the WIKI picture. I have a feeling they're inverted, so 24=1, 23=2. Believe I read that on here somewhere :)

Actually, this could be useful. The e810 connector has guide ridges that need to be shaved off to get it to fit. It looks like the vx6000 might fit unmodified.

Actually, as tested by me, it does fit unmodified. That is why I posted in the first place. Unfortunately, It is still useless to me because I dont know how to modify it to a serial cable. I would probably fail. Although, since I have 2, I can probably try it out once if I ever get to it.

Sorry about the bad Pictures. I don't have a camera and my phone (obviously a vx6000) will have to do.
