I seen in the wiki that there was a lot of debate ovr it and lots of stuff on people trying and failing. But i found a really easy way to format the card. You can just use disk utility, and format the card to ms-dos (FAT32). Place the files on, eject and run the update like normal. So no more terminal. :D

It might have been done before, but not anywere that i read it.

What size is your SD card?

I have a 1gb card and disk utility always formats it to FAT16. It just automatically does that, I think if you have a 2gb or 4gb it will do 32 tough.

I just used my friends PC to formate my card into 32.

I formated my 2gig sandisk to fat 32 using that method, so yeah it seems you need at least 2 gigs. It's a shame that my card still doesn't work though (the wiki said it would too...)

In general I do not like managing my SD card with my Mac, even though I hardly ever touch my PC. It is because of the invisible files OS X just loves to put on FAT volumes, you know, the .DS_Store files.

If you have access to one, I have found formatting the card and firmware upgrades are just easier on a PC.

Okay, I'm worried now.

I've just bought a 2gig SanDisk card (the vanilla flavour) and I only have a Mac. I've got my GP2X on order from gp2x.co.uk, as well as a card reader from eBuyer. I've confirmed I'll be getting the Mk2 edition, with the Version 2 OS, but this talk of the 2gig SanDisk card not working after being formatted with a Mac is worrying.

Can someone link me to a definitive guide of what I need to do with my card before I transfer my emus and roms to it, and plug it into my GP2X?

Cheers!

When I said doesn't work, it's only for upgrading the firmware, you can just plug and play to get all the games working.

Your fine because you have a 2gb card and it should formate into FAT32. (whats vanilla have to do with SD cards?)

BEST PROGRAM EVER FOR MAC + CRAPPY FILES

All you have to do is put this program in your dock (makes it really easy) and drag your sd card to it. It then removes all those crappy files and you eject it. Plus it is free.
I use this every time with my gp2x.
