External Hd?

i use this just fine with my gp2x:

only mine is a 60gig model, and i had to rig up an admittedly very easy-to-make cable ..

its pretty nice to be able to put the hard disk in the bag, and just trail the cable out to the gp2x to watch movies/view pictures. since the JOBO datatank is also used for me and my girlfriends' digital photography, it means the gp2x is really handy for previewing pictures during long sessions ..

its unfortunate that there aren't cables being supplied by a manufacturer to make this work for all GP2X users .. for now, the only way to get an external hard disk hooked up is with a bit of DIY cable making .. but when you've got 60gigs of data with you for use with your GP2X, you'll see really how its worth it to burn the ol' fingertips ...

GP2X is USB 2.0 slave, USB 1.1 host.

This means connecting the GP2X to a host will give USB 2 speeds.
But if the GP2X hosts a slave (eg. a HD) it will only give USB 1 speeds.

Torpor:

I guess you just did a cable that goes from the EXT to USB of your HDD right? You didnt plug it thru a small hub, but provide power externally via an AC adapter right?

Maybe you could post your solution so everybody can do it too ;-).

if you even looked at the datatank hd, and read some specs... youd see it has a built in lithium ion battery.
