We just found a box of brand new first edition GP2X's which we had missed before the MK2 arrived.

Looking for £85 each to clear.

Paypal, will sell in bulk too.

I am figuring that as £85 + £9 Postage and that is converting to $170 U.S. with the signed airmail (using xe.com for conversion rates).

Is that right?

And what reallynotnick said too, First Edition, or Pre-Order First Edition?

Im new to the GP2X thing and looking for one, when you say 1st edition, do you mean the like "Beta" versions that were released at the very start?

I think some of them are real 1st edition stamped versions.

What happened was they got sent off to have the well known issues fixed, and when they came back they must have got put somewhere and left there until we found them a few days ago.

I'm open to offers on them anyway, might ebay them.

1 year guarentee etc. they are fault free and running 2.0

David from GP32z actually returns the GP2X that's been sent back after it's been through the Korean repair cycle. It takes a while, but I was actually glad that I was able to keep my First Edition.

Craig, If I buy one and its got one of the known 1st edition problems could I send it in for replacement?

yea, but their is known faults in the 1st releases and these ones have been sent away to be repaired but their could still be a possibility that one of them still has a problem and knowing my luck I will probably end up with it :p... Im just making 100% sure that the guarantee covers this and that I can send it back for another if it comes with one of these problems.

thanks :)

Yes, if there are any issues you can return them. The only reason i've put them here is because I can't really sell them via the website.

Oh PS I should point out none of them are pre-owned, we opened up all the first editions once we knew of the common faults and tested them and sent back the faulty ones. These are those units.

Can anyone tell me the difference between a MK1 and a MK2?, sorry for such a noob question but I've stuck with my GP32 for so long I've stayed outta the GP2X news.

I've tried searching the FAQs.

So the MK2 should be superior, eh? Or is it like the MK1 has the better joystick and screen or that people want it for collecting perposes?

Not sure what a new screen and joystick means, if it's better or worse, hope someone can clear that up.

apparently the new screen is slightly harder to see (needs tilted on a slight angle) BUT has some problems fixed that the mk1 screen had and the rotated joystick is better.

It is beginning to sound like a typical GamePark upgrade. Get rid of all the old problems and annoyances and replace them with totally new set of problems and annoyances.

Mate, get some facts before you make those judgements. btw, what "new annoyances" were introduced with the original BLU upgrade (not the BLU+)?

The Mk2 GP2X has these differences:

* The joystick is rotated 45 degrees making it easier to hit cardinal directions (up/down/left/right). The Mk1 has the stick improperly aligned so that it has a diagonal bias. The Mk2 also supposedly has a smaller deadzone.

* New LCD screen which is brighter, sharper, and has a higher contrast. It also has no interlacing, which was the major annoyance for Mk1 owners. It has a slightly tighter viewing angle (i.e. if you tilt it too much up or down, you can't see it as well from those angles).

* More power to the EXT/USB ports (for future expansion).

Unless you can call the viewing angle a "problem or annoyance," then the Mk2 is an improvement in every way.

That being said, a few people actually *liked* having the interlaced screens, and in reality there is not a huge difference between Mk1 and Mk2, so picking up a Mk1 cheap could be a very good move. It depends on your tolerance for the issues described above.
