Race, Changing Controls?

Any one know how to change the controls for RACE? I can't quite figure it out. I have to use a and b. I can't seem to use x and b or a like I want to...

Yup, I know. It's in the RACE! source code. In other words, it's not user-configurable.

This will probably sound really stupid, but is this code easy to change? Like would I be able to find the line and change it easily? wait, is the RACE source code even available?

EDIT: btw, I never used a real neogeo pocket. So it only had two buttons, and which button was the button used to select stuff and the button used to go back in most games? thanks

If you're asking these kinds of questions, then I would say that the code would not be easy to change. Even if you did, you'd need to re-compile the project when you were done.

There were actually 3 buttons. On RACE, you'd use A, B, and Select.
