The main reason for me to buy a GP32 would be to play NES-games on my TV. Is that even possible? If so, what kind of output does it have? Two player support?

ahh no as far as i know there is no video output you need either a tv-out card for your comp and use a PC emulator or just get a old NES :D

Thank thee for thy reply.

I heard somewhere that with the multiplayer adapter-thingy you could play the GP32 on your TV. But I take it that it isn't so then.

There is a multiplayer add-on that works using radio frequencies. In theory, tehrefore, this could be used to transmit on a signal the TV could receive.

In practice, it transmits at 14.4kb/s which is no-where near enough to transmit a decent picture.

Cpt_Kirks, it is next to impossible finding a working NES with a fully working controller now days. Finding working games is just as hard. Unfortunately my NES was thrown away (!) when I borrowed it to my sister.

So there is no hope of ever being able to play it on my TV?

A dreamcast runs NES pretty well on a TV :)
Got mine with 5 games for about 50 Euro on eBay :)

I have to agree with the others. For what you're wanting, get a NES emulator for the PC (NESticle, iNES, many to choose from ... check here: http://www.zophar.net/nes.html). You can play them on your computer then. If you want to play on a television instead of your computer, get a TV out card for your PC and run the output to a television.

Flack

Thanks for the replies. The good thing with gp32 would be that I could bring my "nes" to my friends with ease.

On a side not, at gbax.com it says:

EXT out port which allows you to do many things including using the gp32 on your TV or for wireless multiplayer

So it cannot be all that impossible.

this --WILL-- work. in theory.

get a Gameboy Advance. Get a flashcard and load PocketNES (the NES 8-bit emulator) and a bunch of roms onto it.

get that doodad that connects your GBA to your television. this requires that you open up the GBA and stick a new (permanent) backing onto the thing, but it's got TV-out cables that can plug into your TV.

--Presto! (will not work with 2 player games)

go to liksang.com or somewhere to see that TV attachment device I am talkign about, perhaps it's on craig's site gbax.com as well?

Aye ralp99, that will work. I was hoping of taking advantage of perhaps some other lesser emulators as well on the GP32. So are there any plans on a similiar device for the GP32?

I'm sure something like that is possible, I'm just not skilled enough to do it (unless someone shows me). If anyone want to attempt it, shoot!
