Emulator Icons

I tried the icons but they didn't work. When I click ok after choosing the icon, a different icon appears that is already on the icon (for snes9xgp, it changed the icon to the sms (not from your zip, but the old zip files which had lots of icons) one, for ljgp32, it changed it to the pce one (again, not the one from your zip). I was like, WTF? So I used MyGP to view the icons and saw that they were all messed up and you couldn't make out anything. Have you tried using the icons, antiriad?
yup, same things happened to me - I wondered if some files got corrupted along the way somehow as when I went into osnes9x some of my save states had become duff and wouldn't load :(

I'll wait to here where you put the new icons and give that a go

nice work by the way - looked at the gifs on my pc ;)

tried again also but same wrong icons appear.

If there are errors on my SMC whats the best way to fix? I've tried a scandisk and used the recover SMC function from the pc-link option in the official firmware.... is there another way?

I 'created my own' (converted other icons) icons for wind-ups and ran into problems with the icons too. Just creating the icons with the right palette did not mean they would show up properly.
I noticed that using different backgrounds would screw up the icons, as if using a higher number of colours in the background-image would leave you with less colours for the icons. This would also mess up transparency.
(maybe straying slightly from the subject here but who knows maybe the problems are related)

I reckon they are related raven.

Ill be honest, I dont quite know what i can do. anymore. Perhaps we need a Wind-Ups expert?

Ive emailed the author to see if he has any ideas.

Good news! Karthur, author of Wind-Ups got back to me and said the following:

The only wrong thing I've seen in your icons is that although they
use the GP32s palette, the last color, white one (index 255) is set as
transparent so the whole gif image is thought as a transparent gif and
wind-ups routines can't load them. Yes, it's a wind-ups bug, my fault!!
:/

I've modified them so you don't have any problem (see attached zip
file). In case you want transparencies in the gif images you'll need to
mark the transparent pixels with a magenta color, the one that get index
number 227 in GP32 palette (see gp.gif attached), but don't set the gif
image as a transparent gif when converting it in your image program
(photoshop, paintshop pro, ...)

So guys, re download them for hopefully the last time (smaller file too now that the thumbs.db file has been removed...goddam Windows XP) and these should work for you.

Yes! They work perfectly! Although the text for snes9xgp, fgb32, and fgen32 are way too blurry to read, but it's okay I guess. Thanks for the icons, Antiriad.
