absolute weirdness. here's a video.

http://graga.tri-bit.biz/files/smw_snes.rar

lots of hubbub going around in the GBA emu camp right now,
lots of "respected coders" verifying it's validity.

for what it's worth, it doesn;t look like it will get to the levels of SNES emulation on GP32.. but quite a technical triumph, after all is said and done. who'd have thunk, eh?

here's the forum blabbering to watch for those interesting.. those Zodiac owners must be fuming right about now...

Awesome!

I must say that I am quite confused over how they can attempt to overcome the GBA's resolution... how much RAM does the GBA have too?

I'm still not convinved that the GBA has the hardware to emulate the SNES. Saying that Mario Kart Super Circuit is an example of the GBA's power...

I just keep wondering whether somebody has simple made a PC emulator from scratch and not implemented all the functions whilst running at a low-res and speed to give the impression of running on a GBA. <_<

Hey guys wake up it's a very bad fake!
It's more speed and fluid than on the gp32 and you can believe it?!
I bet all you want it's a fake!!
What a shame to make believe people it's true!!!

Me too I love the GBA 'cause I have one and games as Golden Sun 1/2 and Top Gear Rally are awesome!
But it's impossible for the gba to emulate snes!
GP32 cpu = up to 166Mhz
GBA cpu = 16.7 Mhz
GP32 is 10 times more faster and some snes games are slow so imagine on GBA...

well if its true maybe they'll port it to the gp32 ^^!
Seems to me that it'd be impossible to emulate the snes on the gba, it just doesn't have enough raw power. Maybe specific game emulaters would work though, that'd be pretty cool I think.

the only saving grace of GBA (as compared to GP32)

.. GBA has dedicated video hardware, which can be taken advantage of in emulation. All the GP32 graphics stuff is done in software, thus a greater CPU hit.

I've been looking at that emuboards site for ages before I even first visited this site. To hear some of those people proclaim it as real means, hell, it IS real. (they've spent months, and pages, protesting to the contrary, previously)
Unless of course it's all a tremendous hoax.. but hey it's not April now, is it...

i think its a fake.. gba emulation is still slow on the gp32 (133) and the gba is just not fast enough for snes emulation... i didnt see the video, cause its down..
if its not a fake.. than those devs. are GODs i think... and they should port this thing over :D

but this situation that just a mystic video is released seems to be a fake... mostly it is so

It couldn't be real... At least by how smooth everyone says the video is. Theres no way that the GBA could emulate SNES with its H/W (it can't even do PcEngine perfect...) And the res isn't high enough, so either the screen is compressed (using H/W time) or it follows the sprite... Or mabye they are using time lapse (sp?) animation... (Doing a video at 1FPMiniute, then speeding it up to 30FPS) ;)
