Hi everyone! I always wanted a GP 32, always was unsure if I should buy one or not... and now my decision will depend on the answers to the question I'm about to ask ;)

Isn't the GP 32 a little low on buttons?

I mean, I mainly want this thing for portable emulation. Considering the fact that the SNES/Super Famicom controller offers eight buttons plus the pad, I wonder how SNES emulation works. OK, the GP offers 6 buttons, but that would leave the L/R-Triggers out (chose those because they are used the least). Can you still play SNES games well on that thing?

When you look at it, most snes games never used all the buttons anyway, or used the 'extra' ones just for rarely used functions. There is an option in opensnes9x to press the select button to swap between button configs, so it's never been a problem.

I have to agree with the post above :) you do have to know that if a fanbase creates games for a system, they usually wont screw stuff like that up, because ... well... they play the console alot theirselves. Don't worry about the lack of button, practically every game will/can work around it :)

:D Just for reference, the above are spot on. You can re-programme the buttons on opensnes to what you want. I've been playing a few classics and they don't even use the shoulder buttons. I gotta say i was sceptical about the emulation results but i got a 166 version from gbax and have been very impressed. Hope that helps!

Thanks everyone, I just ordered my GP ;) Looking forward to talking with about that thing once it arrives.
