Yeah, I'm currently trying to make game. Developing it on the PC but making it portable as possible so I can eventually target it to the GP32.

It's only at the engine stage right now as I can't totally decide what type of game to make. I've developed a tilebased map engine that can be either drawn 2D straight to screen, or in a mode7 fashion.

I was originally thinking of making a pseudo 3D Beat-em-up but now I think I'm going to make a driving game instead as there is a lack of them for the system.

I wouldn't expect anything immediatly as I'm actually an artist with only basic coding skills, but hopefully I will have atleast something to show in about a month.

On the PC side I have coded GPFontMaker.
On the GP32 side I have coded Puzzle Mix and Animings.
I had also started to code an RTF Reader compatible with TrueType fonts (without images), but I have paused the project because I have read on GP32Spain that with the realease in Europe of the GP32, there will be possibly an eBook reader.

I voted no. had the option been there i would have picked 'would like to but devving for gp32 (i.e. setting up dev environment etc) is too hard/ not user-friendly enough...

^^^quote seems like a good idea, but i get the feeling (from the bits i've read on the developers boards) that i'd fall flat on my face there too...

my 3 months of c++ on the pc wasn't nearly as hard as this... it was just 'write a program - run it'... what's gone wrong?

Me and my mate were going to start developing profesionsly for GP/palm/ zodiac, but he got cold feet :( Now he's left the games industry (he was a PS2/Xbox coder) and programs quiz machines. If I ever have the time i'd love to though. Got a design for an RTS i'd like to do (or a textured update to Elite, that would be fun!)

 Well I have coded a few games for the GP32. S.I.P. - Andyman , and Iam still working on Xigon One. The system is very easy to code for. C++ is mad easy and using 16bit color helps eye candy ect.. Music is so easy as never to be a problem. So whats keeping other people from using this sweet handheld as a way to get there games created and out there.

I realise that some of you must be young people without much programming knowledge, but lots of good ideas. Dont get down hearted guys just jump in with both feet.
Remember that the people making the games and emu's ect.. do it for the fun and love of coding.

Keep your hope and the GP32 alive !!

: EMUMAN :

ps. still dont have my GP32 back from repair (hense the NO update to Xigon1)

Where would you get developement kits and guide for the GP32. I would mind creating a thing or two on the GeePee, even if it is only a graphical demo.

I'm currently working on gp32 tokimeki check in (please suggest a good name :) and I'm going to start working on a point blank type game (think chickens 2 but target type). Tokimeki check in is about 40 percent done just the damn decision tree is so complicated. Got the graphics and sound ripped from the pc version and have just started the engine for the gp32. Only got my gp32 two weeks ago but I've been around the forums for a while.

EDIT: I typed all that and actually forgot to vote. :D. Yikes! more than half the people that have voted program for the gp32. Should put this on the main page to increase awareness.
