Memory Capacity Increase

I've read that you can modify the voltage settings to enable the RAM to be upgraded but would it be possible to do the same with the memory card slot so you could increase the maximum size above 128mb or can't the system phycially handle any more than 128mb?
 
as far as i know the gp can handel "any" size of smc cards, but you have to change the bios and recompile the programm if you want more than 128mb.

And i dont know of any smc cards bigger than 128mb, the only way would be a xd2smc adapter, but xd card's are realy expensive.
 
the GP32 can only handle up to 128MB cards, as it can only handle 3.3v cards. Larger ones use 5v, which the GP32 cannot supply, so do not work.

I had read somewhere that 256mb SMCs exist, but whatever group it is that regulates them is busy setting a standard of some sort.
They are 5v cards, and have different pinouts and interface types (I think they might even have different bus speeds).
