I get this error when trying to decode a movie using VirtualDub.

Code:
Error decompressing video frame 75197

An unknown error occurred (may be corrupt data).
(error code -100)

The video frame number varies depeding on how long the movie is.

Please help me.

Thanks.

What typ of file are you starting with? what are your virtualdub settings? and do you mean encode (making the movie into a new format) or decode (converting to uncompressed avi from other format)

Did you create the Avi or have you "acquired" it from somewhere else--if there is an error in the source audio/video data, virtualdub will choke when it hits it. if you created it --try different settings on your original encode. make sure you also have the necessary codecs installed on your machine for virtualdub to stream the original AVI

I "acquired" the avi file.
I think I have all the proper codecs installed, the original file plays more the fine without any jerky sounds or anything. I can manage to get past the error and re encode the complete file if I change the error config in Virtualdub but then I also end up with a avi with the audio out of sync.

In the latest version of virtualdub, go to video on the toolbar, then click "Scan video stream for errors". Once done, if you want to go back to use another version of virtualdub, save this file and open it up in the version you want.

Okay that fixed the error but only in the same way as if I would have set the Error mode to "Conceal errors".

The sound is still horrobly out of sync in the end of the avi :(

Hurray!!!!!!!!! :D

I got it to work!!!!
The sound was insync when I changed the audio settings from "Full processing mode" to "Direct Stream Copy"

Jippie!!!!!!
