How can I get the Gee Pee 32 emulator working on my pc?

Every single time I start an error message comes up claiming that 'fw100k.bin' doesnt existed and Im guessing that fw stands for firmware, so where can I get that firmware if thats even the problem?

yep, that is the problem.. you can get a dump from your own gp32 or download it (beta or otherwise)

Remember though - downloading the firmware if you dont own a GP32 is copyright infringement.
So if you don't own a GP32, how do you try it on geepee32 without firmware? ;)

Try what?

There isnt much that actually runs on GeePee32. You get no sound, its buggy, doesnt work on many many games/programs likes to lock up if you dont press a key every now and then, and is REALLY SLOW. It runs at the equivelent of 40mhz. FileIO is extremely buggy and likes to just wipe files right off your virtual SMC (try running PerfectFit in GeePee32 and saving your score, it wipes all the level data, making it not load any levels, for example). So you can only play some homebrewn games, no emulators, no high end games (that leaves basically a few homebrewn games and commercial pirate copies)

GeePee is not really a usefull utility in "trying out" a GP32. Its main and most usefull purposes are to get screenshots, and to test game development (you dont need sound or full speed, etc... to check and see if things are running correctly, in most cases.) GeePee32 is a development tool more than anything.

It's stupid not to legalize owning bios without GP32 for a company that is not restrictive as GamePark.

So why is it forbidden to own bios without hardware?! ;)

Because thats the law, just because there are no great fast emulators available _yet_ doesnt mean it should be legal to distribute the bios.

Just like a ROM is an image of the CART (you need to own the cart to legally own the rom), the bios image is an image of the bios in the console, you need to legally own the console inorder to have this. Its the same coin.

I know that guy, but it makes me angry, that's all! :)
The law, always the problem... :)
;)
You are just looking at it from the wrong side of the fence.

If you were a software or hardware developer, you would see the great logic in laws such as these that are here to protect the developers. (although they are getting a little overboard with patent laws recently...but thats neither here nor there...)
