We need some Sonic and Knuckles with lock on technology. ;)
fGen Christmas beta already supports it in zipped format.

As for Sonic looked like it was playable and that is all i care about.

I can't wait for this release

Did somebody also say he has a NGPC emu in development?

yes as would i
conkers bad fur day

every second that passes is a second closer to when we have this emulator

Haha, someone gave me a N64 awhile back, I gave it away the next day, its the worst system in the history of console systems. Large, akward controlers that you have to hold from the center just to use the d pad. Bulky, expensive cartidges, severly limiting the possiblities, and a game selection that wasnt much of a selection, full of mario64 clones, and FPS's, with the occasional race game or fighter, and a puzzle game thrown in every now an then. The game selection left A LOT to be desired. Of course this is why the majority of the population purchased a Playstation, making it the best selling console ever, completely dwarfing the sales of N64. (and to this day the playstation brand still dwarfs even N's newest system)

Genesis was so much better than N64, and if you compare the sales of each console I am almost 100% positive that the sales of the Genesis dwarf the N64 by a large margin.

It takes a very young kid or a very large N fanboy, to like the N64. It had a couple noteable games that were decent, playable, but compared to the games that were great and playable for the genesis, its no comparision.

I did like Turok 1 & 2 (3 sucked balls) on the N64 though, those were the best they had IMHO.

This vidéo sucks... the frameskip is very bad but it can be the result of the bad quality of the video, but also because of the emu.
So please stop being amazed by a non significative bad video... <_<

Hmm I normally agree with most of your opinions but not this time (the statement above not the N64 vs Genesis part). The N64 was quality over quantity when it game to games. Mario 64. Zelda, Golden Eye and Perfect Dark where all amazing for the time (my Cousin and Uncle each brought a N64 after just playing Golden Eye on mine). The control pad was revolutionary and it wasn't long before Sega and Sony copied the analogue sticks. The four ports on the front and the ability to play four player split screen was a blast (more fond Golden Eye moments springing to mind). Oh and I'm not Nintendo fan boy (never even owned a Nes). Just my 2p. I'll shut up now.

Oooh yeah that emu looks sweet. If they get any of the Sonic games running with frameskip 0 and full sound, I bow my head in appreciation of their mad coding skillz.

And on the N64 - I own about 100 different gaming platforms, and I'm missing an N64. I did have one, but sold it to get a Dreamcast, which was a really good decision - but I still wish I had the N64 too (they're way too expensive here in Finland still).
That machine had the best 4-player games ever (GoldenEye, Diddy Kong Racing's egg robbing things etc). Also, I played with my friend 172 rounds of N64 Bust-A-Move in a row.

I totally agree :) nintendo and rare made some kick-ass N64-games!! :D

btw: the movie is quite sucky :/ frameskip and such, but that 's prolly just the movie and not the real emu quality :)

Didnt I say it had a couple decent games? You yourself just agreed with me and disagreed at the same time!

They were ok games, but they all have that old 3d game hollow look. Kinda like what the first gen of 3d playstation one games looked like. Except, with PS1, later in the playstations life, the games started to get really good, where as with the N64 they all stayed, visually, pretty much the same throughout the life of the N64. Compare the visuals in FF8 or FF9 with the visuals in any N64 game, no comparision. So N64 had horrible games graphics wise for their time. And with the large akward controler, they were not fun to play.

As for the genesis comparision, you will notice I hate pretty much all 3d games with a few exceptions for some rare great games. (UT, etc...)

The problem with the N64 is that 3d games was pretty much ALL THAT IT HAD, and most used solid shaded colors, (like mario), many lacked any kind of textures at all, and the ones that had textures, they were like Doom 1 quality.

Maybe if you looked past the ugly graphics and the bad controlers the games might have actually been fun, I know I enjoyed mario kart and a couple racers, but for a 2d game fan, the N64 was the worst possible system ever.

I loved my old N64, still do.

It was brilliant for a young gamer like me and my mates, the four player out-of-the-box functionality put it way above the ps and saturn in terms of fun. Many an hour we wasted away playing lylat wars, iss64, mario party, smash brothers, extreme G, F-Zero X, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Snowboard Kids, Mario Kart... jesus the list is huge!

And the controller was legendary, it made perfect dark, goldeneye, zelda et al so much more playable thanks to the innovative Z triggers and C-Buttons.

And i'm not some Nintendo fanboy, my previous console was a Megadrive and i also had a GameGear to boot :p

All-time classic N64 games: Goldeneye, Mario 64, Zelda (2 of 'em!), Jet Force Gemini, Turok 3 (only good Turok game ever made), F-Zero X, 1080 Snowboarding, Conkers Bad Fur Day, Blast Corps, Excitebike 64, Super Smash Bros.

All-time classic Genesis games: Gunstar Heroes, Herzog Zwei... erm... Sonic if you like it, but I don't...

Thunderforce Series.
Super Hang-On
Revenge of Shinobi
Columns
Super Monaco GP
Streets of Rage
Ranger-X

Would anyone else agree with me if I said Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story? I like that even if it was difficult.

thebluenewt, I despise your method of debate. A Genesis fan could easily come up with 12 great MD games and 'only come up with' 3 N64 games. It would be a blatant mistruth, much like your post.

N64: Blast Corps is one of the poorest of the Rare games. 1080 Snowboarding is fairly standard. The second Zelda was crap. Goldeneye might have been original but it was a standard FPS, just because it's on console doesn't make it anymore than a mindless shotfest. Excitebike doesn't sound too exciting. Jet Force Gemini gets boring. Turok 3 sounds suspicious judging by the prequels but I'll take your word for it. Virtually all these games were made by Rare or Nintendo, and if you look outside that range you won't find many good games, which means not much variety.

However, I would add to the list of classics: Starfox 64, Perfect Dark, Mario Kart and Banjo Kazooie (to be fair) :D

Genesis: I do like Sonic so I'll go ahead and put the first 4 games in. Gunstar Heroes is good, but so is Vectorman, Alien Soldier, Phantasy Star, Contra: Hard Corps, Jurassic Park: The Lost World, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Shadowrun and Altered Beast. Okay I was joking about the last one :)
