Agree. 600€ for an atom is insane. That's too bad cause I can't think of any other thin device with a 6" display.
GPD Pocket 2 is out and both motherboard and battery size look okay but once again, finding a touch embedded 6" eDP display is impossible.
Interfacing the joystick and controls to the device would be easy. Either we wire the WiiU gamepad controls to a usb board like Teensy of solder them directly to the GPD WIN 2 PCB (prefer option 1).
BTW, when looking into options for the Nintendo Switch Chassis I've found the Ockel Sirius A Pro...
Going to get a spare GPD win 2 screen so I can start working on it without killing my device if the teardown goes wrong (remove the screen glass bezel and keep the touch screen).
EDIT: Original GPD Win 2 battery is too thick and we might have to use a smaller one which means adapting the connector.
I don't really care about original controllers and will use joycons with Bluetooth. So, there is no need for a controller rewiring.
I believe a piece of complexity will be the bezel exchange on top of each touchscreen.
There might be some middle frame drilling to fit the GPD win 2 battery...
I was thinking of something like 25$/h (I have no idea what would be a proper offer here). With a maximum cost of 600$.
I'd be providing the GPD WIN 2, and some stuff I already ordered (50$ Nintendo Switch chassis).
I leave in France, but I'm fine shipping it worldwide. Would be great is...
Well yes that would work. But similarly to the modded WiiU gamepad with a core m5 I own, I especially like the form factor and the unusual side of the project.
Hey folks,
My name is Benjamin and I'm a tech enthusiast with real appetite for handled devices.
As such, I am the current owner of a modded WiiU Gamepad with an Intel Core m5 (through an Intel Compute Stick) inside that I ordered to banjokazooie from sudomod forum.
