The engine will be created using C++, so the plug-ins will have to be released in a binary form and will have to be created using C or C++. This means that the plug-in provider should create a different build for each architecture and each operating system or release the source code, so anybody...
You're right, somebody could write a plug-in for his custom graphic engine that only works on Windows and doesn't distributed the source code, so nobody could recompile that plug-in for other operating systems or architectures... but I'm not very worried about that because that is one of my...
I'm trying to make a multi-platform 3D game engine in C++, but I have a little big problem... The game engine would have a plug-in system so other people could replace the default components if they wish. That way, if somebody makes a better physics engine or a better render engine, he could...
Have you seen these images?

When I saw them, I thought in "Sonic Unleashed"... so we could do a game called "Panda Unleashed"
The screenshots are very nice and the engine is very easy to use (I did some tests few months ago and it was amazing). The problem will be, as usual, finding a good artist, but having Irrlicht in our Pandoras are always very good news.
I was looking forward to this engine being ported to Pandora. I have two question that are very important for the game I want to make:
- Does Irrlicht work with the TV-Out?
- Can you render two different "viewports" (one of them in the LCD and the another one in the TV) or the TV-Out only...
We already have "two screens": the Pandora's LCD (which is also a touch-screen) and the TV-Out... and if you can't (or don't want to) play on a TV, you can also put both screens in the Pandora using different scale factor, as some people has said previously.
GP2x will be the perfect birthday present for my little cousin. I've gone to her house several times with my GP2X and she loves playing Sonic and several old Disney games.
Unless the user login as root (a super-user with admin privileges) there are nothing to be worried about... no program will be able to delete or modify any important file for the Operating System, so no viruses could be created. At most, you can create a "malicious program" that affect files in...
When I said "the next step will be modifying some configuration files" I wasn't talking about end-users, but "the people who manage the repository" (hopefully OpenPandora Ltd.).
I agree with you, a software repository should be available to the users out of the box without having to configure...
They haven't answered yet, but I think we'll be able to have our own repository only with Pandora software. If that is possible, the next step will be modifying some configuration files... this way, the program would use our repository instead of the official repository.
I'm not sure if we...
I've just discovered an interesting free application called DJL:
http://en.djl-linux.org/?q=node/17
It is a program that shows a list of freeware games (as free beer) and free games (free as freedom) for Linux and let you select one of them. After that, the application downloads the game and...
My girlfriend wanted to see the little gnomes working inside the Pandora case, that is the reason I asked for a transpared Pandora
I still think a black Pandora is more elegant.
