    TOSEC Pandora

Just in case no one cared to download it to see what they have in it. Here is the list of software they documented. One thing I disagree with is that they labeled all of it as being in the "Public Domain". They should have used the respective license instead. Forgive the errors in the file...

    Longest living console?

Two Amiga 500's in regular use. One Amiga 1200 in regular use. Three Commodore 64's, one in regular use. All still fully operational. Not to mention all my other systems that see some use, and are still fully operational.

    Pandora 2 and which OS?

None of the above. I would prefer FreeBSD/NetBSD but I know that wouldn't happen. I'll deal with Linux. Don't care for Android. Windows? That's funny. As long as I can boot another OS, it really doesn't matter.

    What was your first computer?

Mine was a Commodore 128DCR (the metal box version), that my dad picked up at a garage sale for $15 in the late 80's early 90's. For some reason I couldn't get it to boot into it's native 128 mode. It would always boot into 64 mode by default. I spent hours playing "Card Sharks". It didn't come...

Genesi Efika MX Smartbook/Netbook (ARM Cortex-A8 based mini-laptop) questions

I like their smarttop. It's a pretty decent price and I should be able to put NetBSD on it. Maybe I'll save up for one. The smartbook looks good too. I personally don't care for SSD's myself but I could tie it into my file server for mass storage. I'm always looking for more ARM based devices to...

    I'm building a computer - Please help!

I wouldn't use the PSU that comes with a case. Overclocking won't increase the TDP of the CPU by all that much unless you go overboard. It's the graphics card that will be the most power hungry piece of hardware in your system, drawing up to 200W of power by itself when It's fully running. Since...

    I'm building a computer - Please help!

If you read through the articles they test the hardware out using a variety of benchmark tools and many high end games. PCMark, 3DMark, etc. Crysis, Metro2033 to name a couple games, and some practical software like 7-zip, video and audio transcoders, and the like. You could compare the raw...
