Is Gp2x.co.uk A Dodgey Online Store?

I'm with nowaycomputer, above. I ordered and selected the next day option. My GP2X was turned around reasonably quickly (about four days or so) but they took the money off of my credit card immediately, which is a total no-no under credit card law. When I quizzed this I was told that "oh, the...

    Hey...

Possibly the finest retort I've ever seen on an internet forum. Amigas, pah, I sh*t 'em. (speaking as someone from an Atari background who was firmly on the ST side of the 16 bit wars)

    Good Stuff!

What, it exists for the sole purpose of preventing people from knowing that others appreciate their work?

I'm nicking that as well for my sigfile. Perhaps, between the two of us, we should take over marketing over at GPH!

Less Than A Day Old And Stick Already Modded...

update - and I think this is the final one. I found another black fibre optic cover. I did a better job of cutting this one down to size, and I also held the bottom of it under a lighter for a while, then mashed it onto a table to flatted the ragged edges around where I'd cut. (You can't see in...

    Share The Wealth?

I'm a Mk2er, and I still think the stock stick is crap :( As for what the nob is made of, it's the end of a blanking cover of a port on a fibre optic patch panel, with a small nut inside it, and the nut screws onto the end of a pen refill, which then slides onto the stick shaft. See here...

    The "must Have" List

It would, but it should also be subdivided by game genre, otherwise it'd be full of crap beat-em-ups, the popularity of which I've NEVER understood. So each platform would have a listing for the five best shmups, best platformers, best sports games, best beat 'em ups (if you must), RPGs, and so on.

Thumb on top of it. The rubber is slightly pointed right at the top, so you can actually control it like I'd originally envisaged, like an 80s LED game. To go left, the thumb is slightly offset of center to the right and pushes the stick in a leftwards direction from the opposite side. If you...

Less Than A Day Old And Stick Already Modded...

An update - gravedigging a bit here, but it was my thread to start with. I think I have finally settled on my final stick mod, after a few days of using various pen lids, various other contraptions, and then a week or so of using a cotton bud (or Q-tip to you Yanks - it took me a while to...

    The "must Have" List

Overlooked classics for each emulator: Atari 2600: Berzerk. Best. Game. Ever. Spectrum: Manic Miner. Second. Best. Game. Ever. Atari ST: others have said Xenon 2, so I'll go with Kick Off 2, even if it is a bit of a bind with the GP2X controller. Powerdrift is also a good shout, the ST...

I Have Just Sold A Gp2x On The Tube...

First tube journey with the GP2X today, and already got a convert. Got on at Morden, and a bloke got on a few stops down and sat in one of the few seats remaining, which was next to me. About the same age as me, early 30s, obviously a product of the Pac-Man generation. Between there and...

    Modification List

Then in that case a GP2X is a drug, on the basis I spent a good six hours on mine last night in lieu of sleep. I think I've got the addiction and habituation down pat, and the "marked change in conciousness" comes by virtue of the fact I'm bloody knackered this morning.

Bring it on! Berzerk is one of my favourites from my misspent youth, especially the VCS version which I cut my teeth on. Never got to play the original arcade game until years later and the advent of MAME on PCs, and am rediscovering it now on the GP2X. I can't help going back to the VCS version...
